Q: to the Pro-choicers...

In your own personal opinion, is abortion ever wrong? Are there any circumstances where you would think, "Woah, that just isn't right"?

Yes.

I used to feel that using abortion as a sole form of birth control was wrong, but my opinions on that have changed. I still feel it's a disrespect of the female body and of life, but hey, it's her body, her choice. I would frown, but I would drive a woman to her 7th or 12th abortion.

The only situations I can think of right now where I view abortion as wrong are the following:

1. Any forced abortion. Whether it was the boyfriend, parents, whoever, a forced abortion is always a wrong abortion. It's just as wrong as the forced birth that pro-life advocates.

2. A very late-term abortion (7-9 months) that is done for ONLY elective reasons. A woman suddenly doesn't want to be pregnant? I'm sorry, but that is a viable fetus inside of you. You went this far, go the rest of the way and give it up for adoption. I can't condone abortion at that stage. Babies born at this age almost always survive. I would discourage this woman from aborting, and I would not help her attain the abortion in any way; I wouldn't even drive her there. No money, nothing.

If someone has been prolife all their life, and they suddenly morph into "prochoice" when facing an unexpected pregnancy, and they know they are going to turn back towards the dark side after their abortion, then yeah, that just isn't right. Wink

I don't think so. I can look at the actions which resulted in the pregnancy and think that, but I don't think that means a woman should not be able to make the final choice about the pregnancy.

I do have a problem if people are using it a sole form of birth control, because it really isn't the best things for the woman to have multiple abortions, and it is being irresponsible.

I see why people would say, "her body her choice" but when people wreck their body by other means (drugs alcohol) we don't have a problem stopping them.

And of course, forced is bad. And I agree that beyond a certain point it's bad- but I also don't know where that point is..... I haven't really decided where 'life' starts yet lol.

There are a lot of times when I would frown on abortion for myself, but I can't let my personal feelings interfere with the choices another woman has to make.

Late term for no reason
Abortion as birth control
Coerced abortion
selective abortion

Still, I can't judge someone for these things. i have to believe that a woman is faced witha hard enough decision without me passing judgement. in the end, we all have to look ourselves in the mirror every day.

In my own opinion, I don't feel there's a such thing as a 'wrong' abortion. Yes, the forced ones suck and may feel violating, but even then they are usually done in the best interests of the woman (i.e. teen who gets knocked up on prom night who was previously going to attend college - a quick trip to the clinic puts her life back on track).

Sorry, but if it involves reducing the number of unwanted babies, then I'm all for it.

.

exactly. Though I personally frown in non medically necessitated post viability abortion; abortion as birth control; coersion of any sort I will not stop another woman from doing so.
Frankly its her body; not mine.

No.

Whilst I personally may feel uncomfortable with certain situations it is not my body and my choice. I am unconditionally pro-choice and always believe the woman has the right to decide whethe or not to continue and parent/continue and adopt/abort.

Obviously. As I think I should have mentioned, the question was "do you ever think abortion is wrong" not "would you ever want abortion to be illegal when _____" and of course the answer is no.

I think that the actions behind a coerced abortion are definitely wrong. The same goes for those who chose to have a termination but then decide that it was the wrong choice to have made for x reason.

I would frown upon abortion being used as sole birth control, but I would be in opposition to any future forced birth because of this lifestyle. I am not against abortion as sole birth control, I simply regard it as an unhealthy, careless, irresponsible, and utterly frivolous abuse of perfectly reachable measures that are available to prevent it. Equally, I feel it is a woman's choice (not) to use contraception and (not) to abort as she desires, as it is her body, and always her choice. It isn't a choice I disagree with or condemn, although I definitely do not promote it - I just think it is a v sign to the more responsible and easier (physically also) ways of preventing a pregnancy

I've had a look in the 'recycle bin' and it's not in there. The only thing I can think of is I must have deleted it by accident. It certainly wasn't intentional. I'm really sorry Anne Embarassed

Could you post again please?
