Hi everyone,

I have read nothing but good things about stevia. One health food store I go to, the owner has a master's in plant science and he sells ground stevia leaf.

However I just talked to a friend who told me the LD50 tests for stevia were bad. I guess what that means is it was fed to a bunch of rats and a lot of them died. He didnt' have more details but was pretty adamant about it.

Does anyone have any information about this? Where can I find studies like that? Info isn't easy to find online.

I should note this guy is very intelligent but he also thinks that Splenda is perfectly fine and doesn't think chlorine hurts anyone. After he left I googled it again just to reassure myself and found the plethora of information how Splenda can be dangerous.

Thanks!

Yeah.

I think he probably mistook Stevia for Splenda.
