freguent contractions: could I be dialated more? Posted: 08-21-07 22:39pm
Well...I have my last 2 week dr. appt
tomorrow and then I start going weekly. I
will be 37 weeks prego. on Friday. UGH its
just not going fast enough for me. I went
to the hospital a week ago b/c I thought
my water broke, which it didn. But, I was
dialated about 1/2 a cm. which really is
nothing. I have been having more freguent
contractions since then, so could I be
dialated more? And if I am when I go to
the dr. tomorrow will they do anything?
How far do you have to be dialated for
them to decide to enduce? I am just so
ready to have this baby. SO, everyone wish
me luck. And....any advice or thoughts?

I know for them to admit you into the
hospital you have to be 3-4 cms dilated so
i dont know if once they admit you they
induce you? i'm not shure.. but good luck
and hope the baby comes soon!

I know when my sister had her baby the
induced her at 3 cm and she was only 80%
effaced. But every doctor is different.

yes you could've dialated more but i dont
know if theyll induce you because every
doctor is different

pretty sure i am ready to be done with my
pregnancy as well. i know how you feel
hun. i am 36 and 1/2 weeks pregnant and i
have been in the hospital at least once
weekly for preterm labor the last 8 and
1/2 weeks. i have been dilated at a 2 for
the last week and a half and have had
horrible back labor and contractions along
with lots of pelvic pressure and
spotting....so i got excited thinking i
must at least be at a 4 by now only to
find out i havent dilated anymore. i am
about 60% effaced. im paranoid now that i
wont know when to go in because i keep
telling myself every week that im not
going in anymore until the "real" thing
and then i find myself back in there the
next week because i call the O.B. nurse
and tell her my symptoms and she insists i
come in thinking its TRUE labor only to
find out my cervix changed little or none.
VERY FRUSTRATING----can i just be done
yet?
