My fiance and I were recently diagnosed with Chlamydia. I have had symptoms of it (pain during intercourse) for about 7 months (we have been together for 1 year and he was the first that I had been with) but wasn't tested for it because I have had large ovarian cysts in the past which is what I though caused the pain. Looking back I see now that it was probably more likely a sign of the infection. About two months ago I went to an OB/GYN because we had just moved, and he did an exam with his hands and said that I might have a cyst on one of my ovaries, but said nothing about the possibility of an std. And now I am scared that I have had this for a year, and I know that it causes infertility in both men and women. I am so scared that having this for so long has damaged my organs, or made him infertile and we won't be able to have kids. Help! How long before you become infertile! Are there fertility tests to check for both men and women?

It takes a long time for you to become infertile. go to your OB/GYN and ask. normally a test for chlamydia is not done. so ask for the test and about that
