Weather Systems & Extreme Dizziness, Blurred Vision, Sin Posted: 08-21-07 10:28am
Help! I live in Chicago area and for 3
years have been plagued by days of extreme
sensitivity to weather changes. It seems
to occur about 2-3 days prior to storm
system moving in. I feel it coming on with
a slight dizziness only to be nearly
completely incapacitated shortly - blurred
vision (my eyes become slits), tingling in
sinus area, dizziness to the point of
diffculty standing and should not be
driving. It becomes difficult to think and
feel a racing thruout my entire system.
Pressure in the chest, hearing is dulled,
weak legs, neck pain, constipation, loss
of appetite accompany this. Can last
several hours or nearly the entire day or
several days in varying degrees. Becomes
extremely difficult to do my job! Two
years ago Sudafed would help-I practically
lived on it - continually over the allowed
amount. Four months ago I went to a local
Ambutal become it was so intense. Then to
an ear, eyes, nose doctor - they did 3 hours
of tests for balance, hearing and vision
and I was abnormal on all - then sent for
an MRI and nothing was found. All original
tests were done again and still abnormal
on all! Blood was taken and run thru
allergy tests - nothing! I have been on
Zyrtec and Allegra D, Prednizone,
diuretics and nothing works till the
weather systems hits and then I feel
instant change coming on! I continued with
the Dr. till he finally gave up and
recommended a neurologist. Anyone with
anything like this and suggestions - I
can't live like this!!

intensify during colder weather - any

something like this??

No, I've never heard of barometric
sensitivity to such an extreme. It seems
like you've got a few options:
1. Move from Chicago
2. Deal with the symptoms as best as
possible (maybe try the neti pot to clean
and relieve the sinuses and pressure in
the head ... pharmaceuticals will keep you
hooked)
3. Look into barometric and atmospheric
conditions online to learn more
