Q: STD Protection using condom

Hi!
I'm 17 years old and I haven't been sexually active at all. I feel like it's about time but I'm really scared of STDs. I thought a using a condom would be fine but I was told that there are STDs you can get even by using a condom. So can you tell me how much of this is true? Does a condom protect me from all STDs are are there some that you can get even though you used a condom?

the whole condom thing is so if he/she has an std then you can use a condom to prevent fluids from the infected person to be transfered onto the unaffected person
however it is still very possible to get an std while using a condom
the best way to protect your self would to be have your partener(s) tested
thats the only 100% effective way to prevent the spread of STD's!
