Is It Possible to Have Leukemia With a Wbc of ..... Posted: 08-20-07 09:38am
13,300. My wife was told to see a doctor
due to her wbc going from 11,800 to 13,300
in a month. They said they are testing
her for Leukemia. My question is has
anyone heard of being diagnosed with
Leukemia with a WBC this low?

I don't think your wife is having
leukemia, but is good her condition to be
monitor.
Increased number of WBC can be due
bacterial infection, inflammation, stress,
trauma and leukemia. A drop of blood can
contain anywhere from 7,000 to 25,000
white blood cells at a time. If an
invading infection fights back and
persists, that number will significantly
increase. A consistently high number of
white blood cells is a symptom of Leukemia
(50000 WBC)
Is she experiencing some symptoms? How is
her general health condition?
