Basically i've been told that Depo can be less effective that you have a lot of fat around your bottom, as the Depo can't get through your system properly.

tell me this isn't true!

Any hormonal birth control can be less effective in overweight patients, though it isn't normally a major concern. I'd talk to your ob-gyn.

If you're on depo and your doc didn't say anything, I wouldn't worry. Your doc knows your weight.

If a doc prescribed you with depo, you're fine. It's not an issue. Doctors know the risk, and doctors know how much you weigh. If it was an issue, the doc wouldn't have given it to you.

It's over-all weight that determines the risk, not weight in one area. And you get it in the bum!? Oh god, is that the normal injection site lol? I haven't gotten my first one yet.

If you're really concerned than ask the doc next time you're in, but honestly I wouldn't worry too much.
