Q: Should I Be Concerned? Vision Blackout + Pins And Needles

Well in the last few months I have been occasionally getting (once a week or less) a strange problem. My vision slowly becomes lost and everything starts to blacken, although I can still talk and walk etc, my hands get pins and needles and my vision slowly returns with some head pain.

Any ideas what the issue should be? The blackout usually lasts no more than 10 seconds, yet when it occurs I have to take a seat as I feel I could faint at any minute.

Hi Segamen

Please go and see a doctor .... anything that causes your vision to blacken out and head pain .. must be medically investigated and treated ... Try not to stress over it .. but please see a doctor, or go to a hospital if it happens again...

Please take care

Best Wishes

Ginger

First off, I'm not a physician. My father had the symptoms you describe. He was diagnosed with mini strokes. I seem to recall the doctor calling them transient ischemic episodes. In my fathers case, the doctor implanted a pacemaker and that solved the problem.
If you haven't already please take Ginger's advice and see a physician.

All the best,
Lori
