Question okay so I'm just curious if anyone live with anyone who is HIV positive....is it possible to contract the virus easier if you live with someone who is infected? I only know of what I've read on it and I'm not trying to alienate anyone because of it I would just like to know if there are certain precautions I should take or cer tain things I should do. I've read not to use the same razors or nailclippers as someone who is infected...some people have said that the virus dies outside of the body so why would these things be of concern? How long does it live outside of the body? How soon should a person go get checked if they think they've been exsposed?

The virus dies out side the body within 30 seconds so using razors and toothbrushes is not risky as long as they are not passed from one bleeding person to the other. Air kills the virus.A person should get tested after 3 months of possible exposure.
