Waking Up Paralyzed, Please Help! Posted: 08-19-07 22:29pm
ok this is so crazy i dont know what it
can be but it scares the hell out of me,
this has happen to be about 4 times threw
out my life.
Ill be in a deep sleep and the next thing
i know my eyes open and my brain is
working properly "like i was in the middle
of the day nothing like waking up first
thing in the morning" i can think and
everything but my whole entire body is
paralyzed, after trying to move my arms or
legs i start to freak out and my mind
starts to race and my whole body starts to
sweat because of uncontrollable fear, fear
of just waking up and being parlayed! and
then little by little i can start to move
my fingers, arms then legs again, i would
say the whole paralyzed thing only lasts
about 20-40 seconds but it feels like
eternity, iv never told anyone about this
because it doesnt happen often, like once
every 2-3 years

When this happens try and move your toes
and fingers to regain control of your
body. Try not to sleep on your back. Dont
think about it before you sleep too.
You can see many posts about it in the
"Sleep disorders" forum.

thats called sleep paralasis, its a type
of sleep disorder. its actually very
common, its just when you wake up but your
body is still asleep, then it starts to
wake up. it can be scary but please dont
worry about it though.

No need to worry, it's easy to fix.
Just breathe when you wake up, it will fly
away

Do you feel an evil or angry presence
during this? I've had the same experience
several times during my life. Once in my
Grandparents house that is 150 years old
and has had reportings of ghost sightings
all of my life and back to when my Mom was
a little girl. She woke up and couldn't
move or talk and finally screamed and said
someone is breathing in her face. It's
happened once to me in the same house but
a different room. When I was a kid I was
scared to go into the basement alone. My
first memory is from the basement in this
house. I was about 3 years old. I wonder
if I saw something before that to make me
scared of the basement. I was 30 years
old before I ever slept down there alone
and felt like someone was watching me.
This has also happened to my Mom,
Step-Dad, little brother, and myself in my
Mom's house. Same feeling. Wake up can't
move but can see everything in the room.
And feel like I'm being held down. I
finally say "Get off of me" and it lets
go. I looked it up online and came across
alot of sleep disorder stuff. But I've
never had a sleeping problem. This has
only happend to me 3 or 4 times. Other
than that I sleep fine. Getting back to
sleep after it happens is a problem.
Usually after it happens you can find
something in your house that would attract
a demon or evil. Such as porn,
anti-christ comic books, skulls, anything
dealing with the occult or voodoo. It
also happens if you are trying to become
more spiritual. You attract your
opposite. As good as you're trying to be.
On the other side of the spectrum is an
evil that can match it and will try
everything to deter you from being good.

Ooh now, porn's not evil.....
If you feel like you need to get it
treated, a sleep clinic can help.
Otherwise just do your research and you
should be ok.

my nae is anthony , my mother is a
jehovah's witness. on several ocassions I
would awake paralyzed feeling a demonic
and evil presense. I would say god's name
in my head and slowly would regain my
ability to move and awake. sometimes this
would happen more than once a night and
usually when i slept at my sister's house
with my wife.very scary , very real, I
believe it's demons. my parent house in
collingswood , nj was severly invaded by
demons in the 70's. blinds would fluttter.
doors would slam and cabinets would slam
with pots and pans falling out. all the
cousins and my sister and brother would
wake up crying at the same time.no
coincidental sleep disorder when 2 adults
and 5 children wake up at the same time
and children are crying terrrified. please

I have sleep paralysis and I would wake up
not being able to move, but feeling like I
was in immediate danger like someone else
was in the room wishing me harm.
I would scream but nothing would come out.
When I did get to move, I would jump up
off the bed running for the next room
where I knew someone would be.
I went to the doctor but had a regular
test and nothing ever came of it. But I
learned on my own that sleep
depervation is the trigger.
Make sure that you don't go long periods
of time without sleep. I have not had a
problem again with sleep paralysis. KNOCK
ON WOOD!!!
Anyway there is a easy fix to this, just
make sure you get enough sleep. And try to
calm yourself if it happens again.

I had the exact same thing, its pretty
scary and I remember it very well.
I often have them in the morning when I am
just about to wake up.
I "wake up" and my body is paralysed, but
still able to move my arms a little bit,
but it takes so much energy and then my
heart starts to thump and speed up in my
chest, I often have the duvet over my
mouth and nose and feel like i am
sufforcating but can't get the duvet off
because of the paralysis and I worry that
i might sufforcate before I get the
movement of the arms back. I often hear a
voice in my head to not move otherwise I
would die
I try to shout for someone and then I
realise i can't speak that great, my voice
is a whisper.
I don't get it as often as i used to and
it happens randomly
Its really strange

Sleep Paralysis Posted: 09-15-08 17:15pm
I am very relieved to know that I am not
the only one who has what I just learned
is called "Sleep Paralysis."
When it happens, I wake up and cannot move
my body, no matter how much I want or try
to. My thoughts are crystal clear but for
some reason I cannot for the life of me
carry out my motor neurons.
Something that also happens to me that I
have not read about happening to anyone
else on this forum was that I hear voices.
Very loud voices which I know are in my
imagination because they are so loud
(sometimes they will be male and no males
live in my house) the voices will also
sound very random and will repeat words
over and over. I was not very happy to
read that this is associated with demons.
My most horrible experience with sleep
paralysis was a night when I woke up,
could not move, heard stange voices, and
felt like my body was lifted off of my bed
and placed on the floor (I remember
thinking trying to convince myself that I
wasn't on the floor but I remember
thinking that I felt carpet. ) After this
part I felt pressure on my neck like I was
being choked my hands. After this I felt
that I was back in my bed. (I really do
not believed that I was physically removed
from my bed and placed on the floor but
that is what I remember feeling.)
I do not believe in demons or ghosts, but
this experience made me wonder whether or
not they might exist.
Please post a message if you also hear
loud imaginary voices while experiencing
sleep paralysis.
