ok this is so crazy i dont know what it can be but it scares the hell out of me, this has happen to be about 4 times threw out my life.

Ill be in a deep sleep and the next thing i know my eyes open and my brain is working properly "like i was in the middle of the day nothing like waking up first thing in the morning" i can think and everything but my whole entire body is paralyzed, after trying to move my arms or legs i start to freak out and my mind starts to race and my whole body starts to sweat because of uncontrollable fear, fear of just waking up and being parlayed! and then little by little i can start to move my fingers, arms then legs again, i would say the whole paralyzed thing only lasts about 20-40 seconds but it feels like eternity, iv never told anyone about this because it doesnt happen often, like once every 2-3 years

When this happens try and move your toes and fingers to regain control of your body. Try not to sleep on your back. Dont think about it before you sleep too.

You can see many posts about it in the "Sleep disorders" forum.

Re: Waking Up Paralyzed, Please Help!
Do you feel an evil or angry presence during this? I've had the same experience several times during my life. Once in my Grandparents house that is 150 years old and has had reportings of ghost sightings all of my life and back to when my Mom was a little girl. She woke up and couldn't move or talk and finally screamed and said someone is breathing in her face. It's happened once to me in the same house but a different room. When I was a kid I was scared to go into the basement alone. My first memory is from the basement in this house. I was about 3 years old. I wonder if I saw something before that to make me scared of the basement. I was 30 years old before I ever slept down there alone and felt like someone was watching me. This has also happened to my Mom, Step-Dad, little brother, and myself in my Mom's house. Same feeling. Wake up can't move but can see everything in the room. And feel like I'm being held down. I finally say "Get off of me" and it lets go. I looked it up online and came across alot of sleep disorder stuff. But I've never had a sleeping problem. This has only happend to me 3 or 4 times. Other than that I sleep fine. Getting back to sleep after it happens is a problem. Usually after it happens you can find something in your house that would attract a demon or evil. Such as porn, anti-christ comic books, skulls, anything dealing with the occult or voodoo. It also happens if you are trying to become more spiritual. You attract your opposite. As good as you're trying to be. On the other side of the spectrum is an evil that can match it and will try everything to deter you from being good.

Ooh now, porn's not evil..... Smile

If you feel like you need to get it treated, a sleep clinic can help. Otherwise just do your research and you should be ok.

waking up paralyzed , think its demons
my nae is anthony , my mother is a jehovah's witness. on several ocassions I would awake paralyzed feeling a demonic and evil presense. I would say god's name in my head and slowly would regain my ability to move and awake. sometimes this would happen more than once a night and usually when i slept at my sister's house with my wife.very scary , very real, I believe it's demons. my parent house in collingswood , nj was severly invaded by demons in the 70's. blinds would fluttter. doors would slam and cabinets would slam with pots and pans falling out. all the cousins and my sister and brother would wake up crying at the same time.no coincidental sleep disorder when 2 adults and 5 children wake up at the same time and children are crying terrrified. please reply.anthony

I have sleep paralysis and I would wake up not being able to move, but feeling like I was in immediate danger like someone else was in the room wishing me harm.

I would scream but nothing would come out. When I did get to move, I would jump up off the bed running for the next room where I knew someone would be.

I went to the doctor but had a regular test and nothing ever came of it. But I learned on my own that sleep depervation is the trigger.

Make sure that you don't go long periods of time without sleep. I have not had a problem again with sleep paralysis. KNOCK ON WOOD!!!

Anyway there is a easy fix to this, just make sure you get enough sleep. And try to calm yourself if it happens again.

I had the exact same thing, its pretty scary and I remember it very well.
I often have them in the morning when I am just about to wake up.

I "wake up" and my body is paralysed, but still able to move my arms a little bit, but it takes so much energy and then my heart starts to thump and speed up in my chest, I often have the duvet over my mouth and nose and feel like i am sufforcating but can't get the duvet off because of the paralysis and I worry that i might sufforcate before I get the movement of the arms back. I often hear a voice in my head to not move otherwise I would die
I try to shout for someone and then I realise i can't speak that great, my voice is a whisper.
I don't get it as often as i used to and it happens randomly
Its really strange

Sleep Paralysis
I am very relieved to know that I am not the only one who has what I just learned is called "Sleep Paralysis."
When it happens, I wake up and cannot move my body, no matter how much I want or try to. My thoughts are crystal clear but for some reason I cannot for the life of me carry out my motor neurons.
Something that also happens to me that I have not read about happening to anyone else on this forum was that I hear voices. Very loud voices which I know are in my imagination because they are so loud (sometimes they will be male and no males live in my house) the voices will also sound very random and will repeat words over and over. I was not very happy to read that this is associated with demons. My most horrible experience with sleep paralysis was a night when I woke up, could not move, heard stange voices, and felt like my body was lifted off of my bed and placed on the floor (I remember thinking trying to convince myself that I wasn't on the floor but I remember thinking that I felt carpet. ) After this part I felt pressure on my neck like I was being choked my hands. After this I felt that I was back in my bed. (I really do not believed that I was physically removed from my bed and placed on the floor but that is what I remember feeling.)
I do not believe in demons or ghosts, but this experience made me wonder whether or not they might exist.

Please post a message if you also hear loud imaginary voices while experiencing sleep paralysis.

Re: waking up paralyzed , think its demons
Hi anthony, yes this spiritual world is very real. some have eyes to see where others dont. discernment, I am a christian and i have seen some far out stuff that horror movies could learn a few things. I would see things, my husband would sense them. when they would come, I would start praising jesus, they would flee. i got to the stage where instead of fearing these things got angry as they would awaken me.
they were robbing me of my sleep.
while awake with friends both husband and i saw a vision of a demon trying to attack our young son, it couldnt touch him, we both saw a cross blocking it. when you learn that you have authourity spiritually, its not just reserved for special comisioned folk, you become confident knowing that dont have to put up with it.

Our house was an older home used for witchcraft prior. well i wanted god to be gloryfied in my home so i said to him you better show up and protect us. i had simple faith it was of god or it was not,
well the time came where i was awoken one night and i saw a big angel standing in my door,it was just watcing over me, its height as tall as the door, i looked up and said oh its a good one and went back to sleep. the demons stopped.
there can be gateways, things that we allow, that are not pleasing to god. in our case our home was spiritual, we also had a friend who would come, every time he came i would have trouble.

other homes and situations i have seen demons, even as a young child. i chose not to gloryfy them but god who created all. and my favourite scripture was, god has not given me a spirit of fear but of love and of peace and of sound mind. we pray through each new home and ask jesus to bless it. all our homes are very peaceful.im not a fruitcake really, just aware.

Thank you.. thought i was nuts!
i thought i was nut's it happened to me, two day's in a row! (so twice in my life)it was like what! and i had to try to use energy (mental force 'will power') to force electricy and chemicals down my 'blocked' nerves!

it's like some entity? maybe testing you to see if you want to live and if you do you had to make yourself breathe and blink again! starting to flicker your eyes first and fingers starting to twitch i could feel my heart and blood beat very slowly nearly grinding to a hault. this is the most uncomfortable horrid feeling in the world it is a different kind of hell! it is a very bad experience! i watched passions along time ago the episode about sheriden in a cascette something like this too. also and yes my spiritual encounter, one day strangely during a night i was sitting on my bed and crosslegged and i was in another world ! in a forest it was real ! and i was in it and i wanted to get out so i ran asfast as i could i approached an opening but it wasn't an exit to my surprise it was a enclosured space inside the forest i could feel a presence hunting me down and a phantom appeared, but i wasn't scared of the phantom but it's prescence or energy it emitted put fear into your mind so i close my eyes and recited a religious verse and i woke up crosslegged in my bed at 8pm, damn! maybe a spirit possessed to 'test' me! then no.. i couldn't have been asleep that's bs i was crosslegged in my bed the whole room was shaking and a weird voodooo music was playing in my head when this happened, other weird stuff i've seen but this one was the ultimate. if you've still are reading this you must not have add Smile
thought it was an onset of a stroke because of the paralasis thing. the doctors didn't know what it was.

Waking up paralyzed
I also had this eperience for two nights in a row and I don't know if my mind is going to make it the third..
The first one was the most horrific because
I woke up parcialy paralyzed meaning I could only move the tip of my fingers.
I had just woken up from a dream where I lay in the room of the last house we lived in.
I lay in my bed with my feet where I used to lay my head , kind of the wrong way around.
The man from the game ''Dark Messiah'' was sitting next to my bed talking to me about stuff I didn't even Understand and I know this sounds a bit dumb but It's the fact that I was really from ''Dark Messiah'' that freaked me.
After that I woke up in my real room paralyzed and not knowing what to do. I had a vision of a kind of a transparent form in the air hovering over me like the arbiter from halo with an invisibility cloaking if you know what I'm talking about,
Then I had another vision of my brother next to my bed um..dancing?
Then , that ''form'' moved from my bed to him and pushed him against the wall.
I tried to shout to warn him but nothing really came out.
After that the ''real'' hell began.
I just lay there for what seemed hours and hours to me , feeling something like a tension in the air , a kind of bizzare prensence in the room. It wasn't pleasant.
My mind was really clear and I knew I was awake but unable to move nor speak , I lay ther until I had a breakthrough. I knew I had to do something and my only choice was to pray.
So I prayed , and nearly immidiatly after I finished , it all faded away.
I could move , talk and I didn't feel that presence anymore. God is realy just the way to go to end any nightmare.
I though all this was just a crazy nightmare but after reading all this I realise. And I'm happay I'm not the only one..
I was also paralyzed the next morning I think something touched my neck just before I could move again and I could swear that in the night someone I couldn't see walked into our room and stared talking.
Well I hope you guys'll all recover.
Good luck , and God speak.

Glad you asked!
This problem has been HAUNTING me for most of my life, since I was 12. I don't know what it is, I do know what it does to me though and I can say that it is either going to go away with time or (as is my case) get worse. If it's the latter, then you're in for a real joy ride, kid. You will start having audio hallucinations, seeing things while you're awake (or at least you strongly believe you are awake), you will feel like you are flying out of your body and of course, you may even hear strange voices speaking in an unknown language. Don't be afraid, it's just your subconscious mind. Try to explore it, don't be afraid, it won't kill you. Just sit back and enjoy the ride... it's sort of like being on a roller coaster...you're scared to death but you just ride it out and when it's over, you kinda want to do it again.

O, by the way, you may find that you suddenly can't breath, sort of as if someone pinched your nose and covered your mouth at the same time. When this happens, just relax and focus on pulling yourself out of the paralysis by wiggling your toes.

Evil-shmeevil
Don't listen to these people telling you about 'evil' spirits. Mine have all been quite friendly and even helpful, if I asked what they wanted 'nicely'. LOL. Ok, seriously, it may feel evil, but it's not always evil. The buzzing sound use to do me in everytime, I was convinced it was aliens or an evil spirit, but the truth is, it's all in your head. I promise. It'll never kill ya, but it'll scare the holy crap outta you, that's for sure.

You'll be ok, kid, just don't fall into this 'evil spirit' BS. It'll ruin your experience. If you just ride it out (like a roller coaster) you'll start to discover a lot of very interesting details about YOU.

Positive out of body experience
I've had this experience a few times in my life but never experienced anything "evil", maybe because a friend told me what to do when that happens and that it would be a positive experience. All I do as soon as the buzzing sound starts is relax and let it get louder to a point where it feels like my whole body is vibrating. At this point I do a very slow push up and voila! I am out of my body floating in my room. Never felt any negative presence. I actually try to go through the walls to get out of my room, been successful only twice. The first time I went through the roof and started flying but didn't get far, a block away from the house at the most and then lost conciusness, the second time I went to the street and saw a person in the distance who waved at me,it felt like a very wise and saintly presence, tried to get closer but again I lost consciusness. To me it feels like another dimension and hope to someday stay conscious long enough to learn something from it.

KARAKULA evil presence while sleeping
the evil presence scenario is very real as it has happended to me several times growing up ,you shouldnt lie on your back like your in a coffin as in turkish spritual stories its said that the spirit or demon thinks its a dead person and sits on it ,I would lose my voice all movement and it would last a few minutes until i say a prayer in arabic to make it leave. I could sense when this was about to happen after the first 4 or so times and I did feel some sort of energy in the room and by the way we turks call it KARAKULA ,translated it means dark ? not sure bout the last bit but (dark) says it all and the amount of ppl i know that have had this happen is truly beyond belief and its a very scary experience

Sleep Paralysis ... not that bad.
I had a similar experience to all of these stories. Before any sleep paralysis occured i had a terrible night of auditory hallucinations alog with physical. I saw things, I heard things, and I woke up with something in my mouth...literally.
After this night of a living hell, I changed my ways. Prior to this night I was a daily pot smoker. After hearing voices for days after the experience I came to the conclusion it was drugs. Yet, after I had stopped the paralysis came into play.
The first time, my right arm only was paralyzed. I thought it was nothing but me sleeping funny. But a few days later, it happened again. Before I woke up I was in a deep deep sleep having feelings of euphoria. When I woke up I was completely paralyzed. I couldn't talk and I was freaked out.
Due to my spiritual personality, I had a little conversation with God. Yes, a conversation. Everytime I were to hear voices it was either God or the devil. Call me crazy, but I know for a fact there is a God. However, I also understand the power of the mind. You (Whoever's reading this) can make yourself think anything you want. Anyway, when I did wake up I didn't feel an evil presence. I felt nirvana. I felt like I was at peace with the world and everything around me. I learned alot about myself through all of these halucinations. And I agree with debobon and freeurmind. If you explore the "other dimension" you can find out ALOT about your future.
