I essentially ruined my entire life with
my last manic episode. Spent all my
money, lost my girlfriend/fiance, lost
alot of my friends and had to take a less
stressful job. If you've done something
similar can you give me suggestions on how
to rebuild your life after you've nearly
destroyed yourself in a manic episode?

Hi,
I kinda relate to your situation as my
hubby has the same experience. But for him
he just did not have a manic episode. He
had psychosis already. He said he was
replacement for Jesus and all. And he said
those things in his workplace. Imagine
that! He lost his job, he spent all our
savings, he had to go back to our country
since his visa was cancelled.
What he did was start slow. He has to wait
about 2 months to get stablized. I mean
rest rest rest. Then he got a job which is
less stressful. After 6 months, he came
back to this country to work. Still a bit
stressed. There are times that I know he
is manic but he refuses to recognize it
and listen to me. I just try my very best
to understand.
Dont see your life as DESTROYED. Just see
it as renewed. You know, this is just one
trial that you will have to face. Follow
medication and go to the doctor. You can
also try to find a lot about Bipolar by
reading books.
Just remember you are not alone. The best
thing you've done so far is to help
yourself by going to the doctor. That is
the start. =)
