I am 29 yrs. old and for the past 2.5 wks, I have been experiencing a burning/hurting in my bladder and down there. I have to pee every 5 mins. After I pee, it'll start hurting again. My kidneys are hurting now, too. Could sex cause IC. I noticed my symptoms the day after. I always urinate and clean right afterwards.

Urine test is neg. for any infection. Urologist prescribed pills for overactive bladder. I need some help for my almost constant pain in my bladder AND frequent urination. Would the drug Elmiron help better if it is in fact IC? I have problems taking some meds. I don't want to take this OAB med. for nothing. I need some answers. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!! Confused

IC
I am 27 years old and I have IC. Sex doesn't cause IC. Doctors at this point are unable to detect why and when patients end up haveing IC. My IC started when I went through a very stressful situation. And then all the problems you are having I was in 2005. If your urologist won't do a biopsy to check for IC I suggest you try to find another one. I was clinicly diagnosed in 2005 but was physically checked last year in 2007. Now with IC you can have other disorders. I have two other disorders with this. I would read on the IC website. (ICA) and be positive, you will find your answers.

I agree with siverbullet71..go see another urologist. Many urologist "don't believe IC is real" but it is..some will say it's an emotional problem..in my opinion it causes emotional problems.

Keep looking for answers and keep positive (try to Smile )
