My room mate in my apartment just got back from the doctor, where he diagnosed her with a viral infection. Her symptoms are sore throat, swollen glands, and fatigue. He told her if her symptoms do not clear up with an antibiotic and a steroid that she should come back for a mono test.

Enter scary scenario.

I let her have a sip of my drink two days prior to this. She didn't have any symptoms either.

It was just a sip. I know the most common way of acquiring mono is through kissing, but would a sip do anything? I am a sophomore in college and VERY serious about school... I can't afford to miss any school, and classes have not even started.

My question is, are the odds slim that I would contract mono from her, if she has it, through a simple sip of a drink? I'm a pretty healthy, active person who takes vitamins... so I hope my slip up doesn't harm me.
