Yup, 1 mg is all thats needed. You should
also look for some with essential fatty
acids. It has been proven to help promote
proper brain and spinal cord growth, but
it is only a recent finding and it isn't
in all the vitamins out there yet. They
also have some with a built in stool
softener. (which can be a big help)

Mine do. They have a title for Essential
Fatty Acids, Vitamins and Minerals. But,
just in case they don't, I'll list what is
under that catagory in mine.
Mine are prescription, but I'm not sure if
that matters. Are you pregnant?

Ideally, you should start taking vitamins
3 months before becoming pregnant or as
soon as you start ttc. You should think
about scheduling a doctors appt to go over
everything. They will do some blood test
to make sure that you have the right
antibodies for chicken pox and rheubella
(?) and go over your basic health to make
sure everything is under control. That is
normally when they write you a
prescription for vitamins.

When I was pregnant the last time around I
told my doctor how much I hated those
oversized horse pills as I called them and
she told me I could always take Flinstones
vitamins, they works just as well and they
tasted good so I just shared them with my
son!

My doctor didn't give me a prescription
for them this time. I just get the ones
over the counter. Is that still good
enough? Why didn't i get a prescription?
lol Just a thought.

When I was pregnant, my doctor just told
me to take Flintstones vitamins & an
extra folic acid supplement.. & Later
on, an iron supplement.
