I was just wondering. A couple weeks ago I took a pregnancy test becuase I had that feeling like I was pregnant. I still got my period but I just felt like I was. The test came out negative. But then just this mourning I took the other one and it came out positive. Does that mean that I could be even though I still get my period? And could I still be getting my period becuase of the birth control?

Hi there,

Well if you got a positive on a test there like 98% accurate! So if so ild say your pregnant! If your on any kind of 'pill' I would stop taking it straight away. Have you been trying to conceive?

No, Ive been on the pill for the past 4 months after having my son. And we use condoms. Getting pregnant was the last thing on my mind right now.

Oh bless ya! Maybe you should see your DR so you can have a blood test to make sure?

Im with everyone else, get a blood test, birth control isnt 100% effective. And my friend got her period the first 4 mths of her pregnancy, so she never thought that she was pregnant until her belly was growing and feeling hard that made her test. she was already halfway done with her pregnancy! so it is possible to still have a period and be pregnant but id get a blood test to double check.

No, it's not normal and is in fact rather rare. That's why a period is considered a sign of NOT being pregnant.

What I do know is that false positives are VERY rare. False negatives are much more common. Definately go TODAY to a clinic for a blood test so that you can either take or not take the birth c ontrol pills from here on out.

I'm with everyone else. You need to take a blood test to be sure, but if you got a positive on an hpt, odds are, you're prego! Good luck!
