I've been on yasmin for about 10 months now and so far I've had no major issues, last month my period was extremely light and only lasted about 2 days! I took a pregnancy test and the result was negative! This month I haven't noticed any major moodiness which is generally associated w/my PMS my boobs have been a little sore but not as bad as normal, should I worry about being pregnant!? in the last few weeks I've taken my pill late maybe 3 times top once was an hour late the other 2 were no more than 15-20 minutes late. Replies will be GREATLY appreciated?!

I do have sex regularly w/no condom or secondary protection (monogamous relationship).

Trying to put things in perspective for you here.... we can all get a little paranoid sometimes.

~You have not missed a period
~You have not had unprotected sex
~You have not taken your pill too late to be effective
~The test was negative.

Why do you think you're pregnant??
A light period is normal on any kind of birth control. You should enjoy it! And taking the pill 15-20 minutes late is not considered late, just normal. And an hour late doesn't matter. In fact, you have to be really really late before it's a problem.

Hope this calms you down... Wink

No- since std's aren't a concern here, it's not considered unprotected sex if you are on the pill and taking it correctly! You are protected. I would just consider it a lightened period- nothing to worry about.

Lots of things can cause changes in our period. Over time, b/c can lighten it. But stress, changes in eating patterns or changes in exercise, other medications, whatever- these can all have an effect on our period too. Unless it just doesn't come, or you haven't been taking your pills correctly- I wouldn't worry.

I have taken Yasmin for the last year, and I was fine until 4 months ago. I skipped a period, had a terrible one, skipped again and had a light one last month. My pregnancy tests were also negative, thankfully.

The inconsistency seems to be related to the Yasmin since I haven't missed a period since I was 12, minus the time I was on the Depo shot a few years ago. If the pregnancy test was negative, take the lighter PMS as a blessing.
