Q: Hurt At Work

Recently I was lifting a computer at work, and hurt my back. When I had my xrays (per work), and went to the Orthopedic Doctor, they said I may have a ripped Sciatic nerve. However, I just got a call that they saw an "abdominal Anuerysm" on my xrays and I have to have an ultrasound. Could this lift have caused the anuerysm? I never had back problems before and all the shots in my back, Percocet, Flexeril and Celebrex is not helping the back pain. I read that sometimes back pain can be caused by an "abdominal Anuerysm"

Can this be repaired. What is the death rate of someone with this? Help, I am a little concerned.

Hello serenitysel,

Yes, lifting heavy objects, especially large objects that put our bodies "off balance" can cause back problems and other "reactions".

Do the ultrasound as recommended. Far better to seek appropriate treatment now than to delay and let things get worse.

AND don't hesitant getting a second opinion.

Hope all goes well.
