Q: Foreskin Retraction Question

I just pulled my foreskin back for the first time (I'm 18 ). In the past I had never done it before because I thought the skin was going to tear, but it didn't; there was no pain. However, the foreskin seems to be too tight to go back over the head of the penis. Is the foreskin supposed to go back over the head or is it supposed to stay behind the head?

Yes, it should go back over the head of the penis (when you're not erect) to cover it. The meatus (head) is an internal organ (mucous membrane), just like a woman's clit (or like your eyeball), and the foreskin is like your eyelid (or a woman's clitoral hood).

Gently pull it back down to cover the head after bathing or masturbating. The meatus needs to be protected from rubbing against clothing etc. and the foreskin keeps it clean too.

Don't ever force it further than is comfortable to do so. Also, don't pull it back and clean with soap. If you want to clean underneath, just slide your foreskin back in the shower, rinse under the warm water, then slide it back. If you have any irritation or smegma buildup (i.e. from being too rough with it) a soak in the bath will do wonders.

To clear some things up that peice of stringy skin is perfectly normal is not an abnormality in anyway (i spent a few years thinking it was Wink )

As for the skin the first few times it goes back it wants to stay there if you pull it back every morning to wash your penis in the shower in a few months it will be nice and loose and will go up and down without that tight feeling Smile

Hope this helps
