My son just turned 2, he doesnt use any real words, he says stop it sounds like "dobit" but i dont think he understands what it means because sometimes he will say it and just go "dobit dobit dobit" repetitively. He understands some things, i ask him wanna take a bath and he will go upstairs and i hand him the diapers and he goes upstairs to the bathroom to take a bath. i ask him give mommy kisses and most of the time he will. But he doesnt speak, at 8 mths he said kitty cat sounded like "kih kah" he doesnt say it anymore. he used to say byebye too but only said it once in the past 6 mths. Other then that he really doesnt say any real words, he blabs in his own language. I have flash cards i try and work with him to point things out and say them but he usually throws the cards on the floor . I ask him to say things to but its not working, i just dunno what else to do to get him to talk. he has his 2 yr checkup next week and i plan on asking the pediatrician as well. It seems he is delayed in speech. When he wants juice he hands me his sippy cup then when i get up he runs to the kitchen to get his juice or milk, when i give him things i say things like heres your juice etc. but still he doesnt talk. I know that all kids develope differently but i dont want to not do anything and wait then something was really wrong and i didnt do anything. Its hard to find out what is available since i am overseas on a military base, so we are limited to what is available on base as well since i am in germany. Does anyone have any ideas to help him out?
