Hi,

I have a question: Suppose you have acute kidney failure (due to ingestion of a large dose of some poison) and seek no treatment whatsoever.....do you die or does your kidney fix itself up (in a matter of months)?

My friend's dog drank antifreeze (a large lethal amount), and we didn't know about it and she didn't bring it to the vet, but it didn't die, although it probably suffered acute kidney failure.......is this the case for humans too?

I don't think i understand this, the kidneys should fix them selves up, so why would people die of acute kidney failure? (when no treatment is seeked)

Thanks in advance for any answers!
Cheers.
Kelly
