Q: Positive HPT but negative blood test.

ok some of u know that I took the HPT and 2 lines came up but one was very faint......welll people told me I was preg...so today I went to the doc and they gave me a preg test(my mom doesnt know)......it came up neg.....Im on medication could that mess with the test result???? they did take blood! Im not sure for whhat purpose but Im so lost...

well if you went to the doctor and they said you werent preg hen your not :] they took blood dso they did a blood test

2 lines could have been evep lines on your test like i said before
thats probably what it was

they want me back in two weeks.....they said that they werent sure....can my medication have an affect any of this??? like can it stop me from gettin preg or what?

well you should have brought up the meds to the doctor and told him about it as i cannot tell you if it can or not

why do they want you back in two weeks if they said it was a negaitive test?
did they do an ultrasound or anythine either?

no they didnt ...thats what I dont understand ..y they want me back maybe to check me out idk .....they know about my medication sitch..cuz it was my family doc...he didnt reaaly help much

yeah they probbaly wanna check you out and find out whats been going on i guess?
i have no idea

but if they told you it was a neg on the test then you arent pregnant and those lines on the hpt was probably evap lines which can happen after the test sits out or if you do it wrong

My guess is that you are not pregnant from everything I have read. You probably just let the test sit too long before reading the result. Just so you know though, the tests at the doctor's office aren't as sensitive as the ones you buy in the store. First response can pick up 15mi/u and thiers usually pick up around 110 mi/u, but since it's been a few days your hormones, if you were pregnant, would have already reached that.

Medication cannot affect HCG being in blood or urine...whichis the hormone which is found in both if you are preggers.
The blood test is to find out if you have the HCG in your blood...and it can sense it as early as 6 days after conception, so it would be the most accurate.
