Heck, we have all done some not too bright things in our lives, I believe it is called being human. I am just glad that you and Finn are okay and your place did not burn down, see, things could have been worse, I am glad your neighbor was home! I kind of doubt that you will get charged for the call but I am not for sure. When my neighbors house was burnt, I voluntarily sent the fire dept a check for the support. I am just so glad that you and Finn are okay!

thanks everyone!

now that i'm calm and rational, i realize how easily i could have put it out and the fire department wouldn't have had to come.

oh well... live and learn!

i don't think we'll be charged. we pay a lot for taxes each year so i'm assuming it's covered.

omg, mandi! your house actually burnt down?!

Not completely down to the ground, the upstairs only had a bunch of smoke damage since the door was shut. But the downstairs had to be completely redone. The fire was Dec. 14, 2000 and we didn't get to move in until June 2001. We lived in a hotel for awhile (my parents, 3 brothers, my nephew 2 cats and 2 dogs....yeah that was fun) and then we were able to rent 2 townhouses (as opposed to 2 hotel rooms) I lived at home when all this happened...the fall after I graduated.

Bridget, I thought of you last night when we were watching Duece Bigelo. When he was watching the Gigelo's apartment and he put his grilled cheese into the toaster and caught the whole kitchen on fire. Thank goodness that didn't happen to you.

there's a nice scorch mark on the side of my fridge now. i didn't realize it until i took a magnet off and i can still see a perfect silhouette of it.
