I am desperately looking for answers about premature skin aging. I'm wondering, with the accumulated sun exposer I've already had, how badly premature aging will affect me in my later years.

up till middle school I often played outside without sunprotection. I maybe got 2 hours of sun exposer a day but with an added amount of time when my family would go hiking, which was once every couple of weeks.starting high school is when I started wear a high spf sunscreen (50 or more with zinc) and I highly limited my time outdoors. I'm 18 and am continue my strict sun protection.

The only sun damage I have is very light freckles on my shoulders. I am fair skinned but naturally darker than scottish or irish heritage. So my overall question is if I really started protecting myself from the sun (to the extreme) starting in the 9th grade and beyond, how badly could I possibly be hit with premature skin aging later on?how many years would it take for all those years of sun exposer to show up? Just estimates and personal opinion.

I'm basically freaked out after seeing a 50 year old that looked like she was 80. I wear spf 70 by neautrogena now and even use an embrella! I live in AZ btw. I'm hoping for the bad againg to start when I'm 30 or preferably older, think I can achieve that with how things are going now?

Extremely eHealthy
Our normal skin aging process can be accelerated by some external factors, among which, sun exposure ages our skin the most. It takes few minutes sun exposure everyday for couple of years to have visible skin changes.
For people who live in areas with intensive sun rays, skin changes can be noticeable in their 20's. Also, they're at higher risk to develop skin cancer.Freckles, age spots, rough and leathery skin, fine wrinkles, reddish patches of skin, loose skin are lesions connected with unprotected sun exposure for years.
I don't think you'll experience intensive premature skin aging due to your sun protection. If you're a smoker, quit smoking and take some anti radicals(vitamin E ).
