Hi,
I tore my labrum at work in July of 2006 I had surgery Jan. 2007 after 3 months I was sent back to full duty work doing the same job I was hurt on. I went back to the Orthopedics office because of pain and was told I was suppose to have been through PT before I returned to full duty (He never give me any referral) I have not been pain free since my injury, I had a cortisone shot that never helped and then a MRI with dye to make sure it was not torn again, The MRI showed the sutures were still intact but I have tendonitis. This is my Right shoulder I am a Journeyman carpenter and only accepted the job I was hurt on because construction was so slow now I fear I will never be able to swing a hammer again and make a decent wage to support my family. Any input would be greatly appreciated I have been on L&I the last 2 weeks till the inflammation goes down.
Thanks Armond

Dear Armond,

Ouch. Sounds like you're dealing with a lot more than just the injury, but also feel like you got a raw deal from the doctor. Some doctors simply don't take the time to educate us, their patients, so we MUST do this for ourselves. Have you searched online for LABRUM tear and treatment information? If not, I can help you. Give me an update and I'll see what I can do.

Extremely eHealthy
If you havent gone for physical therapy I stongley recommend it. Therapy is necessary to get you muscles and joints working properly again. If you went straight to work after you could have re-injured your shoulder or damaged the work that was done. I hope all is ok with you.

My shoudler used to dislocate if I sneezed, coughed hard, threw a ball, or even if you hugged me too tight. I couldnt do anything with my right arm. I was is constant fear of the pain from dislocation. I had my surgery in Feb and had therapy from March to May. My shoulder is better than ever. I can lift and throw now. The shoulder will never be the same but I have strenght in it.

Best wishes....
