My lower right wisdom tooth has been causing me some pain now and I am wondering what the best course of action is.

My throat hurts on that side when I swallow and the area feels quite enflamed, but I really don't think I can afford the £100 in dental bills as I am a student and funds are tight.

Will the pain subside or will it persist? If it passes I can do without going to the dentist and hang on until I get my loan in if the problem reoccurs.

Can I just wait for the pain/problem to go or will it only get worse? Do I NEED to go and see a dentist right away?

Is there anything I can do to relieve the pain/swelling or any treatment that isn't costly?

It does not hurt as much as I did which leaves me to believe that it will stop hurting, but I am not entirely sure.

Hey
are your wisdom teeth pushing against your teeth making them crooked? If so it depends on weather or not you want to pay to get your teeth straightened later. it will go away after they come in. Is there some sort of payment plan avaliable there?

Theres no dental plan as such no. You go for a £20 check up and if there's a problem, you pay more to get it fixed. One of my teeth in the area thats in pain has already been pushed sideways but this happened a long time ago.

The pain has died down now and I think by the time I wake up tomorrow I'll hardly notice it but the sore-throat and jaw-ache wasn't a very pleasant experience to be put through, but at least I didn't have to spend much money!

In the end I ended up buying some Corsodyl anti-bacterial mouthwash. I'm not sure it helped or whether the pain would have naturally subsided by now anyway, but either way I'm on the mend. Thanks for your reply.
