The same virus that causes genital warts is responsible for causing cervical cancer. Please see an obgyn and have yourself checked, explaining to that Dr your situation. In some cases, pap smears will come back questionable, I've had a friend who went through what you are, she has to go every 3 months for a pap smear and has had to have a few spots frozen off. If you do develop the warts, there are several methods of removing them from Cryo (freezing them off) to burning (with a laser)them. Never heard of any cream that would work. Your boyfriend does need to be on Valtrex. Its expensive, but keep outbreaks from being so bad. Hope this has helped! Warts are caused by HPV. There is no cure for HPV. That means that even if you have the warts removed, you will still have HPV and will be able to pass it on to other people. Since you still have HPV, you might break out with warts again and again. So when it comes to HPV, all you can do is treat the symptoms; you can not treat the HPV.

As Fairy said, HPV can cause cervical cancer, so make sure you get paps at least once a year.

i have had them and from what the nurse told me, everyone carries the virus responsible for them but some people dont get the warts and dont get any symptoms, anyone can get them as soon as they become sexually active. U can get a cream for them which i used but u cant get it over the counter.

I had no idea the virus was linked to cirvical cancer. I shall definately get another doctor, or go back to the sexual health clinic again.

My boyfriends warts have cleared up on there own now, so he shouldnt need freezing treatment unless maybe they come back... just needs the virus treating like me.
