I had protected sex, intercourse and oral (condom) with a female sex worker last tuesday (6 days ago). There were not lesions or soars present. Prior to the act I asked her about her health. She said she gets tested frequently and does not do anything unsafe. I even asked about herpes. I immediately after I took the condom off used antibacterial on my hands then on my penis and pubic area. I took a shower and washed thoroughly after getting back to my hotel room. Anyway, I am worried sick, for the first two days after I did not eat very much or get much sleep. I flew from the west coast to the east coast on a red eye flight as well and slept cockeyed in the seat. My back on one side was soar tender feeling on thur and still is today. I had a head ache thursday as well. I had itching in my pubic area above my penis where my pubic hair is on one side (same side my back was hurting) I have not had a fever or flu like symptoms. I have a wife and kids under 3 years old, I spent the weekend shopping with them lifting them repeately and now my back is soar also on both sides of my spine and I have dull ache in my groin in the same place that was itching before. That area is tingling some as well, no sign of blisters or anything but it is in my pubic hair so it is hard to see.

I am scared to death that I have it. Could my anxiety be causing my "symptoms" it has been six days now, I am concerned by the statements that I am reading everywhere saying "some do experience little or no symptoms"

What are my chances of catching this in the manner that I described?

Thanks

it may not be the herpes, but it could be something else. Go see a doctor.

What else could it be?

Still no lesions or anything but some soreness in my back midway down.
