Q: Advice : I Have a Small Burn My Finger

A barbecue flame ignitor gave me a burn about a inch and a half below my nail on my left index finger, it's now developped a curved small"L" shaped bubble. It continues to grow, it's been about 5 hours since.

I would apreciate it if you can give me advice, since I haven't put anything on it since I don't know what to put on.

whatever you do dont pop it. you can put vinegar or aloe vera gel on it. also run it under cold water.

Try not to pop the bubble. Keep the area clean and dry. Go to the store and buy a burn gel, I'm sure they have some. Usually these gels are made to reduce pain, so have it handy in case the blister pops. It will keep the exposed skin clean and safe. If you can avoid popping the blister, it should heal faster. Blisters are nature's band-aids!

well my mom told me to put vitamin E on it, so my dad went to the pharmacy and brought back a silver sulfadiazine cream, so I applied it and its been a day and I think the blister got smaller and smoother, is this good progress?

quite a problem, the blister popped and liquid poured out, and now its flat and dry also wrikly, completely unitentional, and now my most concern is a scar, do I continue using the wound ointment or should I use vitamin E oil?

things seem to have taken a turn for the worst, the skin that had flatened when the blister popped, now peeled back a bit revealing dry flesh. It doesn't hurt at all and I continue to use the bandages, but it isn't looking pretty for me

As long as it is not red, inflamed, oozing puss and does not have red lines shooting out from it, then you're fine.

If the skin is completely sealed and there is no open wound left, then you do not need bandages anymore. In fact, keeping it moist would inhibit healing.

i totally picked the scab......and now its turning in to a scar so I've been using vaseline only, I've read mederma (or something) works well...
