Is it actually possible to be suffering
from mini strokes? Is it possible that
this is happening, because I have never
really taken any asprin to thin my blood.
I don't smoke! What could cause this?

and found nothing, but I get numb, what is

Jennifer,
you went to the dr in may!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What are you nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whyhaven't
you been back if you think you might be
having mini-strokes?????? People can have
strokes at any age (even babies!!)
that said, where do you get the numbness,
how often & is it at any particular
time or after any particular
activity/inactivity?
At 21 asprin shouldn't have been needed
unless there was a diagnosis to warrant
it. Do you have any other symptoms, as
given all you've said it's abit hard to
accurately comment on the possibility of
strokes.

Purple,
for days now, I have had numbness in my
tongue (the back left) and left side of my
neck, and then like a pulsation feeling in
my neck, my head is getting weird too.
But I dont' have insurance and I racked up
a $20,000 bill in may!

Jennifer,
i pray that we don't go the way of the usa
- $20,000 in one month my god!!
Still the good news is that the symptoms
you describe do not sound like a stroke or
mini-strokes. (i could of course be
wrong). A stroke or mini ones would be
more likely to come & go & get
worse esp after all this time.
Tongue numbness, weird, if it were just
that i'd think allergy or rubbing your
tongue against something in your mouth
that was irritating it (tooth etc) - but
the neck as well, hm , neck & mouth
are often affected by ear trouble, virus,
infection (even if you're unaware of any
problem there). After so long your head
would be starting to feel weird, either
due to whatever is wrong &/or worry
about it all!!
I'd try antibiotics (if you can get them)
for any infection, sinus tablets in case
it's that -which could also affect ears,
anti-histamines for any allergy & a
50/50 mix of water & hydrogen peroxide
in your ear.
Don't do all at once, then you won't know
what if anything works!! Start with the
easiest the last. The water &
hydrogen peroxide was recommended by our
family dr years ago for our daughter who
had problems & infections etc etc with
her ears - it worked brilliantly. You put
enough in the ear to fill to the outer
edge & lay on your side to keep it in,
then wait a few minutes to hear if there
are any bubbles, the more bubbles the
more "muck" in your ear - we had to treat
our daughter a couple of times a night for
several days before it was all out. One
piece of muck that came out was like a
bug, we actually had to cut it open before
we could see that it was wax, but it was
so hard we had to cut it!!
Right now that's all I can think to
suggest you try. But do consider doing an
on-line search of "causes of tongue
numbness" as a start & then go from
there - also consider whether you have any
other symptoms that you're not linking to
this problem. Did you start any meds just
before this all started??

You may be interested to know that tia
(transient ischmic accident) or
mini-stroke can be brought on by people
who suffer migraines with aura. If you
have a history of migraines this could be
why you are experiencing this problem.
You should see a neurologist to have tests
done to see if there are any arterial
blockages that could result in a full
stroke later on down the road.
My friend had her 1st one at 19yrs and
just had another one today (19 years
later). She has no history of hbp, high
cholesterol, etc but has had migraines.
She is having all the tests done now (she
was brought to the hospital via ambulance)
and they have come back completely
negative so they are attributing it to the
headaches.
Have it checked out and check out
information on the web on tia strokes
hope this helps

I had 2 mini strokes at 17, so its
possible that you can have them that
young. You also can be in perfect health.
Migraines could be a cause or in my case
my blood clots easily. Get it checked out
there could be a very simple reason
