Suffering From Anxiety Posted: 08-12-07 09:20am
I am suffering form anxiety....i have been
taking all different medications from
paxil, zoloft, and now im on vistaril, and
nerontin....my head doctor told me that i
am suffering from anxiety,and bipolar
disorder....none of these medications seem
to be doing anything......i was on lexapro
for 3 weeks and that didnt even do
anything....my panic attack happen right
out of know where and they are the
scariest thing to deal with. heart will
beat out of my chest ....can hardly
breathe...shake uncontrollably.....i just
dont kno what to do....its screwing my
life up.....i need to take some kind off
medication that works for that moment when
i have an attack......not something that
takes 3 weeks to get in your
system.....can somebody just give me some
advise what to do.....have you experienced
what i have been goin through....help me

Hey Ryan, I think we have all had
those panic attacks, which are really
wierd cause they do come out of nowhere
sometimes! Recognizing them is the first
step to controlling them. I usually just
put my head down (sitting down) till it
passes. About the meds, some of the
anti-d's actually can make anxiety worse
in some people. You have to try different
ones to find the right ones for you. And
most take 6-8 weeks to get going,
including Lexapro. What about like some
Ativan for the panic attacks? Have you
asked your doc about this?

welcome.
sounds like you're going through some
rough times. it's good that you're
seeking advice from others, because
without an open mind, it's tough to find
your way out of the maze.
what is going on in your life besides the
medications?
