Q: Fractured Cheekbone

Over a year ago I was sucker punched at a bar and suffered a fractured Zygomatic arch (cheekbone). Although there is no pain or discomfort the fracture never really healed properly and at times feels awkward as though something is out of place. My doctor said surgery was unnecessary but after a year of looking at my distorted cheekbone in the mirror and feeling depressed I want to do something about it. I was wondering if it was too late to get surgery and have the bone corrected

It is never too late for plastic surgery to cosmetically fix your face. Just tell your doctor you want it. He's right; you don't need the surgery to survive, so the surgery isn't necessary. However, that doesn't mean surgery is impossible, it's just not a life-saving procedure. And boosting your self-confidence and returning your face to you is certainly a good goal to have.

Please can anyone help?

I have suffered as blow to the face from this my cheek bone was fractured. I had surgery to lift the cheek bone back into place. I was told it would not look the same as before the accident, but a stranger would nt notice anything odd about my face. I have had the surgery 3 weeks ago the sweeling has gone down. I was happy at first until today when i saw myself i a picture. My face has lost in symatery and my skin looks as if it is sagging on the affeted side. the cheek bone on my right side is far larger than on my affected side.

I am 25 years old and worried about the way I look

Can further surgery help me? possible cheek implants.

I also have lose of feeling in my face lip and nose

anyone help

thank you

Apologises I have not replied until now.

you will need to got private, the name of the procedure is malar ostotemy this surgery brings the prominance of the cheekbone back by re breaking the bone and using a bone graft from your hip (sound horrable) has a good result Ive been told by surgeon.

I am having surgery on 15/6/09. will keep you informed.

keep your head up pal.
