Q: Anti-depressants

Are they really the only option? (yes i know a debate, but very valid for anyone who reads it and is taking, or is thinking about taking anti-depressants)
Realising that Anti-Depressants can make things worse, though its not really often, is what really turns me off to them, other than the fact that i know in my condition the likelyhood of getting off them is Nil to None. so tell me do you think that there is a valid option other than Anti-Depresssants, and do you think that people under 18 should be given the medication when is says in almost every commercial that they arent approved for people under 18?
