I just got prescribed penicillin for an infection, and my boyfriend is allergic to penicillin. I'm wondering what precautions we could take. Should we avoid kissing and sexual contact? Is it okay to share drinks or food?

Information would be helpful, thanks.

You're very thoughtful to think about your boyfriend's allergy.

No worries, I think...he won't be affected by penicillin if you're swapping fluids or sharing foods. I think it needs to enter his bloodstream before it affects him. What happens when he's exposed to penicillin? Do you know?
