I've posted on other threads but I think everyone's kinda busy..maybe you girls can help some. I'm so, so sorry it's long.

I'm 18 from Southern MS and here's my case:

I've been on Ortho Lo to help finally regulate me since Feb.25th until June. I got my period June 3rd & instead of starting a new pack, I took a 'break' on June 10th. The week of June 10th, I had unprotected sex with a guy "Sam" using the pull out method and around the 17th 'played around' with no full penetration at least twice. I would have "ovulated" on the 24th-impossible due to no ovulation on pills. I went to my doctor on the 27th & had a negative blood and urine test & a ultrasound that found a ovarian cyst and I had a UTI. I started the antibiotics and on July 1st I expected my period, it didn't come(perhaps, from lack of hormones from June?) but I started my pill over. I had sex with a close friend "John" on July 8th using pull out. I started spotting brown discharge by my ovulation time and up until a short period on the 22nd. For the past 3 weeks I've been having preg. symptoms such as nausea, severe breast tenderness, headaches, small aches along top of arms, and crying spells. I did research on the side effects of Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo and nausea, tenderness, vision changes, etc are some factors for the first 3 months. Although as I said, when I officially started them in Feb. I never had any side effects other than breakthrough bleeding. I had a negative test on Tuesday. But I'm going in to see my doctor on the 22nd for an ultrasound.

My main concern is figuring out, if I did conceive, when?

If I was to have conceived in June with "Sam" I would be about 7-8 weeks and wouldn't it have shown on the ultrasound and in the blood/urine tests, I took 2 total there and they were negative and absolutely nothing was on the ultrasound my uterus was empty according to the radiologist. Also, I just took a pregnancy test on Tuesday and if I were to be 8 weeks or further from June, I would possibly show a positive.

Now if I was to have conceived with "John" on July 8th, things make a little more sense. It was a few days before ovulation(if I were to ovulate, although impossible due to the pills and I was already irregular to begin with, yet possible because I was taking antibotics that could have weakened the effectivicy) and I'd be 4-5 weeks now, which would prove some of the symptoms I'm now getting.

I start my freshman year of college(community for 2yrs) for Journalism on August 20th and I expect my period on the same day. I'm not worried about pregnancy as the baby would be well taken care of. I'm just worried about who the father would be. Thank you for your time. I've attached some pictures and a mini-chart for possibly anymore configuration. If you'd like more info, I'll be welcomed to give.

In May:
"Ovulation"-April 29th
Period- May 6th

In June:
"Ovulation"-May 27th
Period- expected on June 3rd came late due to Cyst on June 6-9th
Stopped birth control on June 10th when expected to start new pack

In July:
(Would have "ovulated") on June 24th
Period- July 1st but never came, possibly due to withdrawl of hormones when I stopped the pills in June and restarted plus taking antibiotics from urine infection.
"Ovulation"- July 15th
'Period'- July 22nd

ok first of all the pull out method does not work! second, if you conceived with the first bloke it would've shown positive on your pregnancy test on tuesday, so you didnt conceive with him. thirdly, if you conceived with the second bloke you wouldn't be getting any symptoms yet and wouldn't get a positive test result yet. but yes, you could be pregnant so wait until you think your next period is due (or wait 19 days after the sexual intercourse AT LEAST) and then take a test. try not to worry yourself, it might delay a period. good luck

if you "take a break" form the pill before you start taking it for the month you body wil ovulate. that is how i got pregnant. though you are right that it wouldve shown up on the ultrasound, unless they werent looking hard enough.

BUT anitbiotic make birth control basically ineffective. so if you have unprotected sex while on birthcontrol and antibiotics, its like having unprotected sex period, which is how alot of other people have gotten pregnant.

a pregnancy test should show a positive (definate positive) anytime after your period is due.

UPDATE!! Correction..I just remembered after heavy heavy thinking. The last time me and "Sam" had any connection/just messing around was June 23rd. Which would put me at almost 9 weeks, if I was to be pregnant by the 1st guy.

bottom line, you need to take a pregnancy test, if youre not satisfied you need to go get a blood test done.

if youre missing your period and getting negative test results then you need to talk to your doctor about why youre missing your period. its probably your cysts, and if this hasnt happened before then you might want to mention to him/her that this is going on.

Most definately! I did research on a Functional Cyst and absence of a period is common..I so totally forgot about that in May my period was only 2 days long then in June it was late and came for about 3 days. My doctor said it was from the cyst, so I guess when I stopped the pills, it just threw off the cycles I would've gotten. I kinda feel relieved now I had to think more. Thanks for your help Heather!
