Me and my bf had sex on the 5th day of my period. I was confident that i wouldn't get pregnant since i still had my period thinking it was the last day. though, we usually use withdrawal method.

BUT THIS TIME! my god! he ejaculated right there inside me! and it really scares me. We already bought pills- its the 21 pills for 21 days. just to make sure i dont get pregnant. 1st time to use pills btw.

what do you think?? any ideas? opinion? suggestion?!

HELP! huhu :Crying:

I don't know what your question is.....

The withdrawal "method" is not a method of birth control. It is extremely ineffective.

Unprotected sex any day of the month is still unprotected sex... even when you're on your period. There is still a chance you could be pregnant.

You should be starting your pills very soon if you're nearing the end of your period (i.e. you're probably starting this Sunday). Do not have sex without backup (CONDOMS!!!!!!) for the first 7 days you are on the pill.

hi hun!!!

well the withdrawl method does not work and is not a form of protection in any way
precum can still get you pregnant

another thing is i believe you said you had sex on the 5th day of your period? you can still get pregnant even if you are on your period. any time of month you are able to get pregnant.

i would wait a few weeks and test if you are very worried
however stay calm and dont get too stressed out about it
stress is not good for your body

Well, I wouldn't say the withdraw method doesn't work. my dh always uses this method to prevent pregnency and after married for 20 years, it still works. We have two kids. I got pregnent within 3 months the first time and only one try the second time, when we wanted kids. So it's not like I had trouble getting pregnent.

yes but it still does not prevent pregnancy in any way and is not effective for women to help guarentee a way not to get pregnant

Ok. So there is some level of protection from withdrawal. But it is low.

Why? First of all, even if you do it 100% perfectly, it is possible for sperm to be present in precum.

Secondly, lots of times (as illustrated by this poster) guys don't have enough control to pull out in time and women don't realize when they're cumming or have enough control to stop them. Sex is a tricky tricky drug.

So no, it's not a method. However, if you do it, you will slightly lower your chances of getting pregnant.

Don't ever rely on it!!!

Okay, so he ejaculated in you? If you weren't on the pills yet then you were completely unprotected from pregnancy, and you could be pregnant. All you can do is wait 2-4 weeks and then test.

And just because you're on your period doesn't mean you can't get pregnant: you can.

So does that mean you just got birth control pills but are not using them yet?

If I understand you correctly, then I think you might be a little confused about how pregnancy occurs. As the other ladies have said, the pull out method does offer some protection, but not very much. Not enough to be relied on. It is not even effective enough to be considered a real form of birth control. So basically you are just having unprotected sex.

Also, your period has nothing to do with it. Women can get pregnant anytime, before, during, or after our period. That's why protection needs to be used every time, not just every once in a while.

So if you were not using any actual method of birth control, you have really been taking your chances every time you have sex.

As Eiri said, you'll just have to wait a couple of weeks and take a pregnancy test. Make sure you're careful in the meantime.

Okay... Pls Read This. Thanks to Anyone Who Replied
uhm.. my point isnt about the withdrawal method thing. its actually about the time whether safe or not.

most people i've asked said that you're most likely safe 7 days before your period and during your period and 7 days after your period. these people i've asked have experienced what i have and did not get pregnant. which makes me a little less worried.

although, of course i'm still worried!! Isn't it that when you are on your period you are not fertile and also 7 days before and 7 days after your period?. and a sperm only lives up to 3 days inside the woman's body. making it less possible for me (or any woman with a regular period) get pregnant? (fertility cycle)

and about the pills.. we bought them about 3 hrs after having sex, then i took them that very day. (and take note it was my 5th day of my period).
and it is my 1st tym to take those pills.

my question really is... maybe not for all women, but most likely in the situation i am in, having my period, then taking pills, it could help me not getting pregnant right?

and guys.. we dont always do that, i mean let my guy ejaculate inside, it was kind of a mistake really... so we'll never do that again.

As I said, time has nothing to do with it. There is no "safe" time. You can get pregnant before, during, or after your period.

Just because your friends are careless and are lucky to not be pregnant right now does not mean that you should be careless too.

Sperm can live for up to about five days in the vagina.

Unless you are very carefully tracking your body's signs for ovulation, there is NO SAFE time to have sex. SO unless you have an ovulation calendar and are checking your temperature, vaginal discharge, and several other things every single day, you have no idea when you ovulated, and so every day is dangerous for you. It was not safe sex by any standard.

Not true. As a general "rule", most women ovulate 14 days before their period. However, again, unless you have actually been tracking your cycle, you will have no clue, and it doesn't sound like you've been tracking it. Women CAN ovulate during their period, before it, and after it. So every day is dangerous.

Only if you were properly tracking your cycle...

You were not protected from pregnancy by just taking one bcp for the first time. It takes your body a whole week for the pills to become effective when you are first starting them.

No. You were not protected by the pills at all. You may as well have not taken them, since you had unprotected sex before you started them. Bcp's only protect you against pregnancy after you have started them.

As far as your period, again, you don't know when you ovulate so you may as well have had sex on your most fertile days; we don't know.

It doesn't matter if you promise never to do it again and only did it once. Chance doesn't care, ovulation doesn't care and sperm don't care. If you're pregnant, you're pregnant.

Now that you are on the pills, after one week you are safe even IF he ejaculates inside. As long as you take them every single day like you should, you will never have to worry about him ejaculating inside of you ever again. You WILL now be safe during your period week.

If you do not get your period this month, I'd definitely test...

Here's hoping you got lucky.

Right now, there is nothing you can do to prevent pregnancy, since it has been more than 72 hours (3-5 days) since you had sex. You're either pregnant now, or you're not. Conception will have happened by now.

She wanted to know if there was anything she could do now, so "birth control" isn't exactly a helpful answer.
