Q: Mid And Lower Back Pain Getting Me Down

hi all hope you all feeling pain free today

I am seeking help and explanation for my back pain which is really depressing me.

It all started nearly a year ago when I lost a baby at 22 weeks pregnant. My first 2 children were born by C section so I had never been through labour before.

With this baby I went into early labour. I believe that this itself could be a contributing factor towards my problems, if not the biggest factor.

Shortly after leaving hospital, I began to experience mid back pain. The area behind the ribs behind and below the stomach area. The muscles feel really tight around that area most days and the pain also leans towards indegestion type feelings sometimes. I do not have any acid, any stomach pain or anything other than back pain.

I have also been experiencing really tight neck and shoulders, however the visit to the acupuncturist and chiro seems to have sorted that.

Once my shoulder pain had been sorted, the pain almst immediately shifted along to my lower back.

This lower back pain has been around for about three or four weeks now, it is much worse in the morning, very stiff and it radiates around to my hips.

The chiropractor said that my pelvis was tilted, he has manipulated it and he believes it is much straighter now. I only had my last appointment this week but my back is still feeling really bad.

I am worried because my back is hurting in two places. Mid back pain and lower back pain.

I also have a numb spot on my left knee.

My doctor has taken all sorts of blood tests twice over the last 11 months and there is nothing wrong there thankfully.

I am just in pain. Can anyone shed any light on why I may be suffering in this way.

Many Thanks
daisydeb

Did You Have An Epidural?
Was it near the place you are experiencing pain? Just wondered if maybe you suffered some kind of trauma due the epidural. I had some problems after my epidural. I had a spinal headache because they went too deep or something.

Back Pain
Hi

thanks for response

Yes I did have an epidural

Do you think this could be the cause?

What symptoms have you had, and if better, how long did you suffer for?

I agree with the above poster who indicated a possible source of your low back pain being from the epidural. It is possible. The upper back pain you are having sounds like gall bladder pain to me. Have they checked that for you?
