Hi Everyone: Could anyone tell me around what age does stranger anxiety usually begin with infants??
Mine is a week shy from 5 months and he has NEVER shown any kind of stranger anxiety...is it still too early?

And, if they do show stranger anxiety...how do you handle it, or is there any way that you can help lessen the anxiety or maybe help it from not happening...

Thanks to all,
you gals are wonderful, and I am thankful you are here for me, and others who have concerns/issues.

Susie.

it all depends on the child and how often they are exposed to new people. my son is 9 months old and he still seems fine around strangers. he just perfers to be with me

i believe 7-8 months is the average age for that.

my son is 9 months and we've never had a stranger anxiety issue. all anyone has to do is hold their arms out and he practically leaps into them.

i don't think there's much you can do to ease it though, i think it's just a phase. since we never went through it though i guess i don't really have any advice.
