Q: Worried About My Brothers Gf
asked by: amethyst eyes on August 9th, 2007

My brother's girlfriend recently found out she was pregnant. She was not even late for her period and was in the E.R. due to cramps, which turned out to be cysts on her ovary.

My main concern is that although the doctor told her she was pregnant nothing was seen in the ultrasound and the doctor seemed worried. Is this usual for that early in pregnancy (4 weeks)? Does the sac usually become visible later on?

Any answers would be great!

Thanks. I am pretty worried. My brother is elated that she is pregnant and I know it would hurt them both if it turned out badly.

Unfortunately, she miscarried yesterday. They are both doing well and have decided not to try for another until they are ready (were not really trying with this one but were still excited).

Thanks for all of you responses everyone.

Apparently it is pretty common, especially so early in the pregnancy. She had only gotten less the 5 days past her missed period and she didn't know until her doctor told her in the er when she was being treated fr ovarian cysts.
