I missed a tuesday pill and then took the pill wed but forgot the wed pill. I did this for a week and then stopped them completly since there was one pill I had forgotten to take for a week. I have been having unprotected sex this whole time but I got my period after stopping the pills. My nipples have been hurting for almost 3 weeks after my period and this has never happened before. I am due to get my period in about 5 days but I'm not bloated, my breast are just swelling. I always get bloated a week and a half before my period and these symptoms are scaring me. I think its from stopping birth control, but I have had unprotected sex (not around ovulation time). I was only on birth control for 5 months.

So you missed 1 day, and then took one pill a day for a week and then stopped, right?

Well, if you had sex in that week, I would say it's unlikely that you got pregnant because you were still taking pills. However, there is a chance because you never took that Tuesday one which you were supposed to. But you know that.

If you had sex after that week, with no pills, there is definitely a chance that you are pregnant. You should test.

However, you can't use your symptoms to determine if you are pregnant, especially (like you said) because they are so similar to symptoms we have at other times (like pms or coming off bc). I wouldn't worry that these symptoms mean you are pregnant necessarily.

I would just wait and test. Good luck.

Hi I came across your post and I am actually going through the same senerio now. I kept missing pills back in December so at the end of the month I decided to stop taking my pills a week before my white pills (I take yaz) and let mother nature take its course. AF came in about a week. I never got my pills refilled so now I have been off them for over a month and I have noticed my nipples have been tender and are always hard. I also do not feel like AF is coming anytime soon. I am actually about 9 days late. I was just wondering when my period will come and if this is normal. I took a pregnancy test a couple days after being late and it was negative. Help!!!

I am Having a missed period on YAZ too!!!!
Okay, so I have been on Yaz for a month and 1/2 now and yeah last month I had my period starting the 13th and ended about a week later. This month I have no symptoms of my period and its definately late. I'm wondering why it hasn't come and I have taken tests and they say negative. Is this normal? We only had one accident and that week I had taken my pills I'm not good about remembering and several times this month I have had to double up on the next day.

well! I am in the same boat..
With YAZ I was really bad at taking it. So I stopped, got my period and now a week and a half late my nipples feel just like they did when I was pregnant (burning gum-drops). It is a different pain then what I feel usually when I am expecting my period. I gather, due to the large amount of women experiencing these symptoms, that there has to be a relation to hormone change due to the stop of the YAZ. It would be nice if there was symptoms explained with the prescription for the discontinuing of YAZ.

Best wishes to you!

Well, I chime in here to share and hope my comment helps another. I had my period last month on the 18th, and two weeks after that due to negligence I had stopped taking the Yaz. I, like the others here, have been experiencing the same nipple discomfort. I however have not had sexual intercourse during that time. [the two weeks] I took a pregnancy test after experiencing a Mittelschmerz (at least that is what I thought that pain was) which painfully lasted two days but only around the third hour of the day, strange. - gladly the pregnancy test results was negative. On the 15th of the month, I did misbehave, thinking the rhythm was safe...did do it unwillingly. I will retake the pregnancy test again and hope to not be pregnant. IF I am doomed I will however take an abortion pill.because If I am expecting it is already too late for a morning after pill.

I got pregnant taking yaz... I was on Yaz for 6 months and took it religiously... had a timer set everyday to take it... started having sympotoms and was 2 weeks late whne i took a test and got a positive... of course i stopped taking the pills and jumpped into mommy mode... but lost the baby at 10 weeks. Doctors said its normal for women who get pregnant on birth control because of the fact you take it until you get a positive test which can be a month after conception or longer... I dont know if this helps but it is possible... if you are and you want this baby stop taking it ASAP
