I had a vag hyst 10 days ago. The day after I had bad back pain in my hips and across my tail bone. The dr was called in but I was in so much pain I dont recall what was said about it. The past three days it has gotten bad again. I cant walk , sit, stand, nothing with out pain. Motrin doesnt help, Vicoden helps but for only an hour and a half then the pain is back. I called and left message with my Dr. What could this be? could this be a side effect from the hysterectomy or something all together un related?

Thanks so much

UPDATE
So my Dr office called back. The nurse said I should be sleeping on my back. I am a side sleeper/stomach sleeper. The nurse said she didnt think it was related to the hysterectomy but could be due to the fact I sleep on my sides. I asked the Dr the night the surgery was done if it was OK to sleep on my side and he said it was fine. She (the nurse) said to call back in a few days if it isnt better. Any one have any idea what could be causing this? Other then that I am doing OK, little if any abdominal pain/cramps, no fever, no bleeding at all.. just the stupid pain in my hips.

Thanks so much
Traene

Same Thing Happened
I think that this must be normal for this type of surgery. I had a vaginal hysterectomy on Sept. 13 and I was on a morhpine drip and still had severe cramping and pain in my lower back and stomach. I still get a backache once in a while but all in all I healed very quickly after this surgery. I was moving around like nothing was ever done.
