Hi there! This is my first post, It is nice to find such a large community..

4 years ago, I tore my ACL and Meniscus in my left knee. The OS said because I am flat footed and the shape of my leg bones are not ideal, the injury was inevitable. Every day my knee needs to be iced and I have to take pain pills....This is fine, I have accepted this..

BUT, in the last year or so, I have been having pretty strong pain in my left foot (I have a prety big bunion), right ankle, left hip, right elbow (sometimes I can't even hold my fork) and now I have a rather large, very painful hard lump a half inch above my wrist on the dorsal side of my right hand...I can't brush my hair even,or pick up objects, and it gets worse every day...My right thumb goes numb quite frequently for "no" reason.

Also, I can never sleep without sleeping pills, and the right side of my neck is always very painful, to the point where I can't turn my head to the right.

I am only 22...I ride horses professionally, but am in college aiming towards medical school.

I am so frustrated with feeling in pain all the time, and sometimes I just want to cry. I have medical insurance, but I dont want to look like a hypochondriac to a physician, and I want to be taken seriously...Anyone have any advice?

Thanks so much Smile

Hi J Miller

I'm so sorry that you are in so much pain .. don't ever think that you are being a hypochondriac, especially when you describe something as you have to us ....
You have insurance, and you have a right to use it, keep on at the Doctors, and if you are not happy that you have been satisfied with an answer, get another opinion.

I don't have any answers for you myself as I am not a medic, although you seem to descibe a lot of numbness, and it's effecting your joints.

I will re-post your problems in the the othopedic section of Ehealth forum, hopefully there may be someone who can give you more help, but we are all here to support you.

Good luck and keep in touch with us.

Ginger
