Hello, I am Diane i am 22 years old and have a 2 yr old and 7 mth old. I am a moderator on this particular forum. I was/am a cutter, i started back in 2002-2003. I cant say that i am cured from it or anything but I am on antidepressants and havent gotten intoa situation where i felt the need to cut. So if you ever want to talk feel free to PM me or starta post. PM's are a lil more private if you prefer not to have everyone reading something.
The best advice i can give you guys is to try and seek help through counseling and therapy.
If you feel a post in this forum is inappropriate click the report button on that particular topic so it can be handled Smile
Thanks
Diane

Hello. I'm Sarah, I'm 20 years old, and I'm a mod on this forum as well. I started cutting myself when I was 13 years old. Sometimes it was because of extreme depression, and other times it was because I was so addicted and used to doing it that I just felt like I had to. I haven't cut myself in over a year now, but I still feel the urge and probably always will. It is hard, but it is for the better. I don't feel like I have to be cautious anymore and hide my wounds and worry about what others might think (except for the scars). If anyone needs help with stopping, I'd definitely recommend talking to someone you care about. I'm here for anyone who wants to talk at all about getting help, or even just about the reasons why you feel the urge to do it. Talking to people can help a lot. Feel free to PM me any time!

I'm new

I'm new here, but I was searching for a forum where people could talk about this issue openly. I've looked a long time for something like this. I have NO ONE to talk to. I'd love to be able to have someone that I do not know in person to communicate with when I'm not feeling so good. Thanks to anyone who reads this or cares.

Suicide threats are not appropriate

Welcome to the Self-Injury Forum. We're glad that you're here!

This forum exists so that you never have to feel alone. We encourage you to reach out before you feel alone. Be willing to offer understanding and support, and it will be returned to you. Please feel free to introduce yourself. Open up a little, or offer help to someone else. We try to reply to all topics here, creating an inclusive community. Together we can recover from self harm.

It is appropriate to post thoughts and to express your feelings on this forum. We encourage you to think in terms of solutions. Please report posts to the moderator or the administrators should you find one. These posts will be immediately removed; they are inappropriate here.

If you are entertaining thoughts of suicide, call 911 or contact a professional suicide counselor, hospital, or local police for emergency help.
