I have a 5 month old infant who was diagnosed with acid reflux and prescribed Zantac. At her last doctor visit the medication was discontinued. Also, during every doctor's visits I bring a list of concerns with me about my baby's behavior. However, with each concern the doctor only states that it's normal behavior for an infant. However, I am not convinced and have the same concerns as before. I am especially concerned about my infants sleeping pattern. At night she wakes up every 2-3 hours only to drink one ounce of milk. Also while she's sleeping she squirms and whines throughout the night. My baby's doctor suggested offering her a pacifier and feed her more formula during the day. I have tried almost everything. I began feeding her cereal and vegtable during the day, attempted to giver her more ounces and tried putting her to sleep on her stomach. My infant enjoys being spoon fed but refuses to drank more ounces of milk( even before she was eating from the spoon.) Please help me I am very concerned. In spite of what the doctor says, my infants appears to be uncomfortable and in pain, especially during the night.

Yikes, no fun for you OR your baby! The only thing I can suggest would be to take your daughter to another doctor. Yours doesn't really seem to be taking your concerns seriously, & I would have a real problem with that. So I'd get a second opinion, or a new doctor all together.

Maybe your baby is just a mover at night. My son will go from the bottom of his crib to the top and he whines and fusses periodically too. I have learned to let him fuss for a couple of minutes (not full blown cry but fuss) and I find he goes right back to sleep. Sometimes he'll lay there and talk to himself for 10 minutes the go back to sleep.
At first I would go into his room and move him back to where I first layed him down and that would wake him up, so there we are "party time" at 2:00am.
I'm not sure about the reflux thing. I'd say if she were truly uncomfortable, she'd do more than whine.
Maybe you should find a new doc if your not happy.
