Well, I don't think you're pregnant... If you're having problems with your period I would really advise going to your ob-gyn for advice and possibly a check up.

Go to a planned parenthood.

They offer check ups and birth control for very very cheap.

SOME women will occasionally have a non ovulatory cycle, meaning that they do not ovulate. You will likely not have a period if this happens.

There are many "womens clinics" you can go to that offer low cost services.

You may need to go on BC pills, or use a medicine to jump start your period.

h ttp://www.ppin.org/

This is the site of planned parenthood of Indiana.. They offer low cost womens care.

well they would have told you if you were pregnant or not when they did the blood test since it can be detected that way

ONLY a few PP do abortions.

MANY women will actually miss a period while on BC, it is because of the hormones!

That is normal =)

Planned parenthood does exams for VERY VERY cheap. IF you cannot afford to see another doctor, they can see you.

WHEN I SAID Birth control I did not mean that you needed to go on it.

You took that the wrong way..sorry.

I meant that women are often given BIRTH CONTROL to bring on late periods, and to regulate their cycle.

Since you are on BC, it is okay.

IT is normal to miss a period on BC pills.

A period on BC is not a normal period, it is only a withdrawal bleed from lack of hormones.

You do not 'need' a period while on birth control.

the Shot
Posted: 08-10-07 00:30am

I have never been on the shot and will never go on the shot because of your reason and other reasons (my g/f had your same problem). The shot completely messes up your insides, my fathers a doctor and just to let all of you know the shot can make you infertile. Birth control of any sort is bad for you and of course planned parenthood and other "doctors" are going to tell you that the chances of the side effects are very slim. First of all the people who work at planned parenthood are nurses so they do not have the authority to tell you since they did not do 4 years of medical school. I go to planned parenthood for pap smears, blood tests, but not for advice. Second of all if you are taking the pill, the shot, patch or whatever I am here to warn you that just because you seem fine and aren't having any complications it can affect you in the long run. With that said, I am guilty of taking b.c for a couple months because of pmdd but stopped to see if it would help. If you have to be on b.c take breaks and let your body be natural and have a REAL period and ovulate for a while. Think about why we have periods in the first place...we need to cleanse our bodies every month...it makes sense right?

Mommys, it sounds like you're not pregnant :/

To the other poster: My mother was on the pill for years... I guess it made her so infertile she gave birth to two babies...

And no, actually, women don't *need* to get their period to "cleanse" their body. There is no (good) evidence of infertility caused by long-term birth control use, and there's no proof of uterine harm from it either.

Do ALL women do well on birth control? No, of course not. However, the majority of women DO, otherwise it wouldn't be so widely used.

The shot doesn't "totally mess up your insides", that's preposterous. Just because your dad happens to be a doc and told you it can make you infertile doesn't make him a reputable source. My uncle is a doctor and he's very pro-birthcontrol. Let the doctors battle! Haha.

Nurse pracitioners DO go to a medical school for 4 years, this is why they can prescribe drugs.

YOUR period is late because you of the hormones in the pill, you are not pregnant.

MANY women will miss a period on the pill, and many more will intentionally skip a period.

my friend was on the pill for about 4 yrs and when her partner and her wanted to have a baby she stopped and about a year later they're expecting twins. my other friend is on depo too and theres no problems there with her.

its just that there are side effects with some people, as with any other medicine u wud take.

to the original poster, you totally have the wrong idea about planned parenthood. I've been there several times as a patient and now I working there as a volunteer. First of all, not all planned parenthood clinics offer abortion. Second, although a clinic provides abortion, they will not try to influence your position or your decision in any way. They are pro-choice people dedicated to serve the public so that they could benefit from high quality and unbiased reproductive care (not like pro-life people).

If you don't want abortions and don't like the idea, they won't force you do or to believe in anything. That is what being pro-choice is all about. And yet they will be able to provide people with very cheap sevices. I go there and I get almost all of my services including birth control, checkups, pap tests, annual exam, e.c. all for free because I'm a college student and I don't have income.

You need to test right now if you just missed your period. Please go test. I don't care if you're pro-choice or pro-life; nor does planned parenthood. Go there and get a test if you can't afford one. They also give blood tests.

Also, you just need a general check-up to find out why you're not getting periods if you're not pregnant.

Please spell out words clearly, use punctuations, with correct spelling and grammar or at least try.
