Can anyone tell me the difference between the 2? Also can colitsis be cured? Reason asking my sister told me she had a colitsis attack and she was bleeding the did a colonscopy and they first though she was bleeding in her intestines because of naproxen a anti-inflamitory. She went in the hospital for a uterine infection and about two weeks before she had a UTI are there any other reasons she could of had that kind of bleeding. My sister told me 2 different things one day she was reading the paper in which they gave her when she was discharged and it said possible colitisis. then a few days later she told me she has colitisis and I asked have you talked to anyone about your stay in the hospital or gone and seen anyone she replied no. I just I think she is over reacting because of what she read.
plese anyone help. I would like to understand. If she does have colitisis or crohns what can be done if anything?

I do know the answer. But, in this case, there is a very big difference in both. You should try a search on it and see what you come up with. If anything can be done for it? Yes, something can be done to minimize the onset of colitis. With crohns, we are talking a whole different ball game, but still can be helped with medications and proper diet with both.

Colitis attacks the large intestine primarily and causes bleeding from rectum which is usually brighter in color.

Chrohns attacks the small intestine primarily and causes bleeding from rectum which is usually much darker in color, even black.

But do a search as this is just a brief synopsis.
