hi everyone! just firstly to introduce myself, my name is hannah and i am 18.

and here's my problem...

i found out last week that i am pregnant (unplanned, complete shock as have always been careful).
i had an abortion when i was 16, and could NEVER go through that again. it was the worst time of my life and have never been able to forget it.
also watched my mum go through a pill termination in october, and made me realise how wrong it was.
i'm a very ambitious, and i'dlike to say well-educated girl, but i now have my heart set on having this baby which means not returning to colllege for my last year.
pretty sure my parents are going to absolutely hate me for a while, they did last time and that was when i got rid of it!!
i really need to tell them asap but I don't want to do it as we are going on holidayin two weeks and would ruin it for everyone! (12 of my family going).
however, if i wait til after... would they maybe work it out for themselves on hol? as i'm starting to show, i'm eating, sleeping different and also wouldn't be able to go on any of the rollercoasters i love to go on every year!
i'm thinking maybe they might start to guess.
and they'd be more mad???
what should i do??
any ideas??
wow this is long orry guys!! thanks for reading if you did! x x x x

im sure they wouldnt be mad, just upset and dissappointed. but if you tell them outright that you're keeping the baby then they cant really say anything as its your decision. if you dont want to tell them that your pregnant and wait until after the holidays you could just say your coming down with something, which would make sense if you're sleeping more and an excuse not to go on the rollercoasters aswell, i doubt they'd notice a little bump unless you've been really skinny throughout your life

i think you should tell them asap, if you end up waiting until you are on vacation you might end up going on the rides just so that they wont guess, you might as well tell them now, so they dont pressure you to get on and then find out while on vacation. think about it this way, would you rather them find out now and start getting used to the idea, or find out while you're on vacation and have it be miserable for the rest of the time?

good luck girl!

Wow! How far along are you that you are starting to show?

You should tell them as soon as possible - especially if they are your support system. You'll need all the support you can get now.

Have fun on holiday!

Hi Hannah I'm Natalie, 19, 11 weeks 6 days pregnant.

Congrats on your pregnancy, things must be scary for you right now!

I can see where you are coming from not wanting to tell your family at the moment, I think things may be difficult for you though especially with going on holiday an acting differently, like not having alcohol where you might have before... Also for me I think it would have been harder to tell my parents the longer I left it. I told them the day after I found out.

Your parents reaction might be very different from what you expect, at 18 you are a lot older and maybe more able to cope with this than last time. (I had a miscarriage at 16 and my parents were very upset about the pregnancy that time - this time they are over the moon)

How far along are you right now?

I think I'm rambling a bit now so I'm gonna head.

Good luck.

im assuming you found out through a pregnancy test. you need to go to the doctor and you need to go on prenatal vitamins as soon as possible. they seel them at most drug stores, and in walmart and target. the baby needs them, you need to not wait on getting the best prenatal care for your child. your parents are going to have to get over the fact that youre pregnant because its not them, its you. you need to tell them as soon as possible, you wont ruin anything for them, nor is it your concern. hte longer you wait, the longer your baby goes without seeing a doctor, and the more frustrated your parents will get that you kept it from them so long. i didnt plan on telling my parents until a couple of week after i found out, but ended up telling them the day after i found out, and i dont regret my decision one bit. while it was hard, they reacted a lot better than i had anticipated, i got to see the doctor earlier, and all the stresses of keepiong it from them was gone.
