I'm a new mother for the first time and my baby was born a preemie and now she seems to be off the chart as far as weight goes. She's 2 1/2 mo. and crys almost every hour and a half for another feeding. And yes I can hear her little tummy growling. I have been reading that I should not give her cereal yet. Is there is a different kind of formula that is more filling and would stay with her longer?

I had the same problem with my little girl! We put her on cereal because she was drinking more than her tummy could hold so she would spit up. Amelia would cry every 2 hours on the dot for a bottle!!! I started puting a little cereal in her bottle and it worked wonders. She even started sleeping through the nights! It wasnt until 2 months I told her doctor the problem and she said I did a good thing about giving her a little cereal in every other bottle because babies tummies can only haddle an average of 32 oz a day. Some people wont agree with cereal. I didnt want to do it either but we had no choice. Theres not really a formula that fullfills babies tummies. Atleast we didnt find one.

I say talk to her ped. He/she may recomend a little bt of cereal in every other bottle.
