Bowel Movement At Least 6 Times a Day After Partial Hysterec Posted: 08-06-07 20:00pm
I had a partial hyst 2 weeks ago, and
since then have had the worst contraction
type abdominal pains before and during a
bowel movement. Plus I've been having
full size bowel movements at least 6 times
a day, but most of the time i'ts more
often, and this is without any stool
softeners or laxatives. Has anyone else
experienced this or know why this is?

I, too am having painful bowel movements.
I had a full hysterctomy on 9/24. Tonight
I noticed that I have been eating much
more and as a result bowel movement are
very painful. My stools are hard and I
cannot move my bowels. I am trying prune
juice, stool softeners and now a change is
diet. I will not be eating any starch,
cheese or milk products for a while. I
will report back if this works. Any ideas
please help.

I had my hysterectomy oct 1. I also had
this prob. A stool softner will help
although i stopped using the stool softner
about 7 weeks ago i have extremly loose
bowel movements and as many as 5 a day is
this normal being almost 3 mo. after
surgery?

Let me tell you this is the worst part of
my hysterectomy, besides the recovery time
in the hospital (horrible). I just hope
after all of this it is totally worth it.
The pain to have a bowel movement is like
having a baby with the oooohs and
ahhhhhhhhs. Nothing is helping me gas x,
stool softners, or just eating something
to loosen your bowels. I had a partial
hysterectomy Dec. 18th, 2007, and I pray
this goes away I couldn't imagine having
this problem all the time. It makes you
not want to even eat. My husband feels
bad for me, and I know he thinks I am
crazy everytime I go to the bathroom. It
is like I am in labor when I go.
