Q: Bowel Movement At Least 6 Times a Day After Partial Hysterec

I had a partial hyst 2 weeks ago, and since then have had the worst contraction type abdominal pains before and during a bowel movement. Plus I've been having full size bowel movements at least 6 times a day, but most of the time i'ts more often, and this is without any stool softeners or laxatives. Has anyone else experienced this or know why this is?

Hysterectomy And Bowel Movement
I, too am having painful bowel movements. I had a full hysterctomy on 9/24. Tonight I noticed that I have been eating much more and as a result bowel movement are very painful. My stools are hard and I cannot move my bowels. I am trying prune juice, stool softeners and now a change is diet. I will not be eating any starch, cheese or milk products for a while. I will report back if this works. Any ideas please help.

Painful Bowel Movements After Hysterectomy
Confused
Let me tell you this is the worst part of my hysterectomy, besides the recovery time in the hospital (horrible). I just hope after all of this it is totally worth it. The pain to have a bowel movement is like having a baby with the oooohs and ahhhhhhhhs. Nothing is helping me gas x, stool softners, or just eating something to loosen your bowels. I had a partial hysterectomy Dec. 18th, 2007, and I pray this goes away I couldn't imagine having this problem all the time. It makes you not want to even eat. My husband feels bad for me, and I know he thinks I am crazy everytime I go to the bathroom. It is like I am in labor when I go. Wink

painful bowel movements after hysterectomy
I had my complete hysterectomy on 2/2/09, and no bowels for first 10 days but last couple of days several extremely painful movements each day. Has anyone gotten better?

They will become less painful as you heal...I was told it is such a thin membrance between your bowels and your vagina, hence the difficulty with your bowels....I know I finally had to go to a health store and get some fiber....They will get better as you get better....

Just be happy it is over....

Take care,

This is probably depending upon what you eat...Lots of fiber will keep you loose...This is really what you want rather than being constipated...Good luck...

Painful bowel movement after my hysterectomy
I had a total hyst about ten days ago and the pain I experience during a bowel movement is excruciating. I don't get it because my stools are not hard. Also, I go about three or four times a day. I have always had a problem with hemmoroids and lately they are bleeding everytime I have a bowel movement. Someone please tell me this will go away.

It will get better, but give it time...It just plain hurts after a total hysterectomy...They do so much repair work that I doubt if one organ is left untouched...I, too, had hemorroids...This adds to the joy of this surgery...Take it easy...time will heal you...Good luck...
