Anyone?? Yaz Bc Questions! Posted: 08-06-07 18:22pm
My Gyn. suggested this BC specifically for
my really severe PMS complaints (see:
PMDD) and it sounds like it could be just
what I need, without using a prescription
antidepressant which is what i want to
avoid if i can.
I have ony been using YAZ for 2 weeks, not
even long enough to see how it works for
my PMS, but I have been very restless at
night, I feel generally a bit "wound up"
like there's a bit of tightness in my
chest (not pain at all), and most
irritating is that my breasts are
seriously sore.
I really want this to work for me, and I
definitely intend to give YAZ a couple of
months to see how it goes. I was just
wanting to know if anyone else was
familiar with these side effects, and if
they are something that may balance out as
my body adjusts?
(Educated, or atleast experienced
responses only, please. Thank you!)

Well sore breasts are definitely common. I
couldn't say about the wound up feeling...
but many people feel much less energy so I
would assume that it is possible to feel
more energy as well.
As for tightness in your chest... I would
tell my doc.

I'm on this birth control, I just wanna
say that when I first started it I hated
it...I could tell something was different
with my body, I spotted the first month
which of course is normal but
ANNOYING...then for what seemed like
forever I would get headaches and feel
nauseated...however I was told that it
takes your body a few cycles to get
adjusted and I didn't feel like going
through the headache of switching pills
until I was sure this one wouldn't
work...I'm still on yaz and all of the
side effects have gone away..so i'm happy
i guess it just
took a while to get used to

Yaz- Early Symptoms Posted: 04-12-08 02:09am
Hi there, I am only on my second week of
YAZ and I am curious if and when your
symptoms started to clear. I am so bummed
that I may have to go through the summer
feeling bloated and fatigued with big
headaches. This is why I started YAZ was
for PMDD and to avoid all of these side
effects, and I do not have room to gain
5lbs in water. I am so miserable tonight
and I am also feeling some light
depression. Did you end up continuing Yaz?
Did things get better? Does anyone have
any educated advice for me? I have quite
the sensitive system, and if there are
side effects to be had, I will tend to get
them, All Of Them!@ I am tempted to stop
taking it, since I am crying all of the
time, but I know this is going to take
some time. Help Quick Please from anyone
else that has information as well.
Thanks, HM

I haven't been on Yaz. But, for most
people on any kind of birth control pill,
side effects clear up after the first few
months. If you're absolutely miserable,
get off of it. But if you think you can
stick with it for a few months, that would
probably be a good idea just in case the
side effects clear up and it works great
for you. Know what I mean?
If it doesn't work out, I'd look into
non-hormonal or less-hormonal options.
Have you tried anything else so far?

Hello, thank you for your response on YAZ Posted: 04-13-08 01:04am
No, i haven't tried anything else. No BC
in over 7 years. I have an IUD and the
clinic let me go ahead and try YAZ due to
the low levels of hormone. I am now on day
9 I think and I am having what is pretty
close to a period, which I guess is
normal. I am soooo bloated and thinking of
doing a cleanse to try to lessen the
bloating. I am concerned with YAZ because
I heard that they don't have any research
on it after 3 months of use, which makes
me think that for most people, it must
have helped significantly in the beginning
(first few months) for it to be approved
by the FDA. Right? Just makes me wonder
why it would be so bad for ME in the
beginning. Any thoughts? I am not sure if
I can stick it out, but I am definitely
going to try. I am a lake rat so spending
the next few months like this could be
hard.

Hi, I would say that I am feeling a
similiar reaction as you are. No headache
but I am having constant cramping and
nausea. I also agree with a slight
feeling of depression and lack of energy.
This does not bode well for me considering
I have four kids a husband and a dog.:>
I am also on my second week and feel like
I have gained 5lbs that I have been
working so hard to lose. I was also
wondering what happens if I just quit
taking the pill. I also went on the Yaz
website hoping I could get some more
information, but it was all pretty general
and not very helpful. Good luck to all
and be well.

my symptoms subsided within the 3rd pack
of the pills...spotting stopped after the
first month, the headaches and dizzy
spells continued until i think around the
3rd pack...so i guess you just have to
decide whether you wanna stick it out or
go ahead and switch...after the 3rd pack
of yaz i was fine and still am!
